A good FH is one who reads the game and then has the ability to choose between kicking, passing or attacking the line and then doing it well. Ntamack does none of these things and the only thing he used to do well, tackle, he has failed at miserably in the previous 2 games. Without Danty, that would have been a very different game. Danty is massively papering over Ntamack's cracks.

It has landed...

Danty scares the shit out of defenses, nailing 2 defenders each time he has the ball. And he has strong arms to turn over ball. I don't see where this papering over Ntamack's cracks.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 8:05 pmA good FH is one who reads the game and then has the ability to choose between kicking, passing or attacking the line and then doing it well. There is no attack out wide without Danty. Witness every game Ntamack has started at FH with and without Danty. Ntamack provides zero attacking threat ball in hand or passing (because when he passes, he's deeper than a priest in a choir boy). Of course, this all looks different when Jalibert plays. And it's not just Danty: Ramos/Jaminet are only selected because Ntamack can't kick or Galthie would start with someone like Dumortier or Bouthier at FB. Ntamack compromises the entire backline in one way or another.

Frog so distracted by his Ntamack-love-in, he's posting on the wrong thread.
Anyway, that was an underwhelming performance but largely as much as I expected. The fatigue in the fwds that we've seen all comp bar Eng was in full evidence again. Fortunately Danty again made the world of difference for attacking threat in the backs.
Which leads me to Ntamack. On the face of it, that was a very good game but with some caveats
1) That's one good game in 1.5 years. The RWC is not that far away so that needs to be a lot better than 1 game every 18 months.
2) He attacked the line. 1st time entire 6N? Might we actually see more of this please?
3) I hope this is a sign of improving but am hugely wary that it was Danty again masking his deficiencies. Something lots of Eng speaking commentators have picked up on and I'm sure the coach of every other team has too.
Last thing: Penaud's defending seems to be getting worse. 2 turnstile efforts to hand the sh*thouse Welsh 2 trys. I don't understand why for such a big lad, he is so evidently frightened of tackle contact.

Well, anything sh*t Eng can do, Fra can replicate. Saw Gloucester demonstrate how not to play against 14 men for 3/4 a game and the Paris do the same tonight. Rugby players have become so dimly conditioned to take contact, space is either invisible in their minds or actively frightens them.

Our season ends but we saved our best game for the last one.
Beat the 3rd place Yerre with the being offensive bonus. (after a rotten year results wise).

What the last few weeks and tonight's game shows is there is some hope for ASM but they need to axe all the dead wood:
Jedrasiak, Lee, Bezy, Plisson, Slimani are all passengers. Newsome is a terrible FB and, of course, Penaud is going.

My cousin's daughter with Paris's player of the season. She plays for the women's team.

Yeah: damaged cruciate in a game 2 weeks ago. Probably end of season for her.TheFrog wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 1:03 pmCutie. She is injured?Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 7:54 am My cousin's daughter with Paris's player of the season. She plays for the women's team.

I was one of the few who picked Pau after all the late ASM changes. Expected it to be a turdfest. What has happened to Joseph?
Thankfully ST v LOU was a cracker and if Berdeu hadn't gone all Finn Russell, LOU would have won.
PS Seeing those ****s MH lose and spoofer PSA lose the plot afterwards made the w/e.
Don't know him and was watching without commentary so couldn't identify him. Sorry

Spoofer Piglet and his rugby cancer MH might get out of this game thanks to AB committing suicide but they are utter muck and Coly must be the worst Fre qualified SH in a decade.

Will review the replay. Apparently Lopez was outstanding. He is enjoying his time on the coast. I think he plays without pressure and just for the pleasure.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 4:43 pm Spoofer Piglet and his rugby cancer MH might get out of this game thanks to AB committing suicide but they are utter muck and Coly must be the worst Fre qualified SH in a decade.

I always liked Lopez and always had the feeling he never quite managed to be at his best consistently, which is a shame. He was important for Clermont.
Started watching the replay of Castres-Toulon. Isa is a hell of a player. On Castres side, Dumora is an excellent fullback. Never made it in the French team but must not have been too far.
Barlot knocked himself out in the first 5 min. Hope he is OK. Netween now and the RWC, we can still lose a lot of players. Jaminet hurt his ankle too... that will be a factor in how we fare.

Everyone hates CO but I cannot help but respect what they achieve with their resources. Compare their term spirit with MH.TheFrog wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 2:06 pm I always liked Lopez and always had the feeling he never quite managed to be at his best consistently, which is a shame. Dumora is now a mile ahead of Bouthier who, like the rest of MH, looks disinterested and/or sh*t. I wonder if Jaminet will even remain part of the Fra squad now given how little he has played.
UBB v LOU should have been a cracker on paper but was a mess of errors.
I get why ST rested everyone ahead of Europe but Paris had no real excuse for short changing their fans in what a laughably named "Choc".

Watch the no arms hit to the head of Rodor about 72 mins and the ref sees it as not even a pen FFS.

How in kerrrrrrist's name that spoofer Saint-Andre has a job. MH lose at home to the bottom club despite playing the vast majority of the game with a man advantage.
