He would certainly like you to believe he was there, he probably even believed it himself at times.Auckman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:51 pm He turned up on the Samoa Observer letters to the editor section a few times over the years. Seemed to be a fan of tier2/3 rugby.
Never interacted with him as he was before my time but I get the feeling you could be at some remote pub in Kazakhstan catching the only TV showing a rugby match in Central Asia and this fulla would be there in the corner.
End of an era - RIP Quentin
That is not Bulldog - that's Quent using his name (Simon died 21/7/08). An absolute cunt of a man.Ymx wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:23 am Wow, this is very weird.

Indeed. He always made himself known in some way or another.
If he was able to post on PR without outing himself then kudos to him.

He returned to the T2Rugby forum after his earlier 'Rowan' banning as "Edgar" and kept rational, but his posts were mostly C&Ps from news and blogs, plus his usual repeat arguments he'd been banging on about for ever. He was actually restricted to two posts per day to stop him spamming the board.
Exactly. Just couldn't help himself.Enzedder wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:57 amThat is not Bulldog - that's Quent using his name (Simon died 21/7/08). An absolute cunt of a man.Ymx wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:23 am Wow, this is very weird.

Just read some of the links, and he sounded like a thoroughly unpleasant individual
Really? Haast Eagle seems to have posted amusing maps, 80s TV theme tunes & sci fi films, with a smattering of NZ rugby trivia. Style is friendly and light hearted. No obsession with tier 4 games or World Rugby doing down the underdog or Western Imperialism. If it was him he's changed a lot.
Wha daur meddle wi' me?
Apart from the username, the posting style, the topics of interest, and the attitude, he's exactly like QP.Mahoney wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 9:40 amReally? Looking at his FB page, he churned out several posts or retweets per day about Israeli human rights abuses - there is no way he could restrain himself from posting about that in a forum ( as he did on the T2Rugby forum).
Also last few posts (last one 3rd Sept) show he seemed to be positive about things so I have doubts about the suicide theory.

Moving to Istanbul may have extended his life by a few years. If he was the prick most folk who had experience with him say, it would disturb me to think Kiwis would have let him continue on that course without taking remedial action with enduring effect.Ted. wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 8:11 amExactly. that account made 9 posts and 3 of those things relate very much to him like how he ends sentences with fullstops, his obsessions with maps and most of all his pro-russian stance, as i said, i can't check on the other bored but he probably was pretty active there as well..
I must pop in. Always as mad as a hatter but quite entertaining at times. You used to get news about rugby from all over the world.
Had a bit of an obsession with PF and RQ.
Never crossed swords with him. He had a log in as a Don Quixote donkey, or some such. I forget the actual one but it began with Alu.
Bit of a board leg end. If he has truly gone to meet his maker, RIP.

That’s not unheard of. How many times has it been said, “they’d just got a new job/house/car, they were finally looking settled, positive and happy”...tabascoboy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 10:13 am Also last few posts (last one 3rd Sept) show he seemed to be positive about things so I have doubts about the suicide theory.

Of course, but it all remains speculation for now. His behaviour on forums is enough to make you question his rationality anyway.Jimmy Smallsteps wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 12:01 pmAgree totally. Just teasing. But you arrived there after me, despite your protests. I signed up July ‘03 after some lurking.

We shouldn't take this too far or Mr. Derek Noble, the Director Of The London Internet Police will be onto us.
