The French group for the world cup in SA

note Gailleton and Bielle Barré are not going as they are in the Senior Group, let's hope they get selected otherwise they will miss both world cup.

Who does this ?

The Poster is really poor graphically.
The content is even worse: the holders France are represented by a player that is actually missing (Gailleton).

On the top you see 3 nation none of which holds the title.
England was trashed by Ireland not on the poster and France. Italy finished above England ... Yet they head this somehow.

Probably about where England U20's are at present. Think they won the first of these two matches by a similar score in Georgia
Be lucky to get out of Pool B depending on how Fiji play and how good Australia are!!
Hopefully with a new coaching team and a little more interest from the RFU we might get back to somewhere like were a few years back. Not holding my breath mind.

U20s Trophy comp.

Pool A
Canada/USA
Scotland
Uruguay
Zimbabwe

Pool B
Hong Kong China (it's how they've listed it on WR site)
Kenya
Samoa
Spain

We had a good cohort when this was supposed to be played in Spain in 2020. Scotland aren't as good now as we were then. We go through a lot of lean years at this level then we get a team comprised of decent players in their second year at U20s and we can just about hold our own against most, but we always suffer up front - that's what led to us being relegated from the top competition last time, we just don't have 120 - 130 kg 19 year olds

Except there appears to be more head in sand stuff by those running the game in England. Take this for example:

I can't recall his role exactly, but I understood he essentially dismantled what had previously been a relatively successful coaching and youth setup.

Not something you quickly recover from, especially if the coaches have moved on (willingly or not)

to be fair the red headed second row / captain looked rather dull against the French . Maybe there is also some lack of talent too.

Quite! Wielded the axe that destroyed a pretty succesful pathway system.
At least the RFU achieved their cost cutting goals.

All joking aside I quite like the look of him. Think he's the captain? Has a bit of bite and I reckon he'll make it
His older brother was one of the few England players to actually enhance their rep this 6N. U20s Chessum is definitely a little bit spikey, but I'd say it won't be long before we see him alongside his brother in the senior England side.

Your question reminded me that the U20s championship was where I first saw Steven Kitshoff play and I immediately thought he was going to be a Bok.

However I got a bit of shock when I looked it up just now and saw that it was in 2012!

Seriously doubt these two will make the cut for the world cup, it's a bit unfair to them but they have been impressive in top 14 and U20 6nations.

Wallaby flyhalf Tom Lynagh was born in Treviso too..
Almost half of Italy under 20 come from Treviso...
