One of my wife's friends is very much like that - she seems to miss the point hat if you're so uncommitted to a relationship that it's probably going to fail.

r/TwoX tends to come at from the perspective that lots of men are pieces of shit and you need to be ready for the moment yours stops masking that he is one. I don't doubt that some of them have the horrendous life experience to justify such suspicion and obviously others take that vicarious experience as truth, but it definitely can't create an environment healthy for relationships. There again, as a bloke, if a woman turns out to be awful the chances of her doing me serious harm are significantly lower than if the genders were reversed, so maybe it's not my place to be commenting on the leap of trust women have to make in the character of the men they settle down with.

And of course there are simple self-sabotaging commitment-phobes.

The ex Mrs...

Gets up from sofa, puts kettle on, walks back in with a drink for herself."where's mine?..."it's coffee, you don't drink coffee..."

Walks into lounge, I'm watching a film, just picks up remote and starts scanning channels...

When we used to run a pub. Take it in turns for afternoon kip, when she had hers. Kept the kids quiet or just took them out..when I had mine, shed start fucking hoovering!!!!

Hence the ex..

Look my wife is happy to work part time but if we broke up I am well enough paid and she is in trouble. Facts are without meeting me and kids she would now be a senior rather than middle manager as she is. She is better educated than I as has two masters. She is published a good few times. Her pay absolutely reflects hanging out with me.
Of course and realtionships break down for more mundane reasons than the fella revealing himself to be an abusive ogre, I was just explaining the perspective I've seen on that particular reddit sub. Also worth remembering that It wasn't all that long ago that women still needed a man's signature for various banking services (mid-70s to open personal accounts and apply for personal loans, 1988 to independently apply for a business loan, for example), so there's certainly the weight of history behind some of the advice to squirrel away money too.

Spends a fortune on the weekly shop but doesn't actually get any food, especially the stuff I want. Candles, diffusers, toiletries, toys for the granddaughter etc, but food, not a fucking chance.
She also can't spend any meaningful time not working without spending money. Drinks with friends, lunches etc. Just pisses away money.

Always on about saving energy, the environment etc, then I spend most evenings turning off lights she has left on in every freaking room of the house.

Ability to go do the shopping, get completely off list, over spends. Then is amazed when I do it that I spend so much less.

Is probably going to be my Boss in a few weeks, has gone for regional management role which includes overseeing my position :wtf: She actually deserves it as is the go to person for clarifications etc, which means someone completely inept is going to get the promotion instead given the normal promotion bollocks the company operates under, (and then they wonder why the turn over of staff is high).

Perhaps she's trying to build you up by giving you the same amount of food as she eats if she's that much bigger than you.

Most of the above

She loves to buy things and fritters away money on rubbish - luckily we can afford it - and it leaves me free rein when I want to buy useful things like Guitars

Constantly leaves lights on and doors open

Refuses to understand how a thermostat works - I have to constantly check and adress the setting.

Overreacts to really minor incidents.

Will keep asking things like - have you had a reply from 'so and so' yet - despite me telling her I'll let her know the instant I receive one.

Will often ask me to put my few things away whilst ignoring how she's cluttering the house up with her shoes, coats, handbags etc..

She's also a bit of a hoarder - several wardrobes of clothes, bags etc, that she hasn't worn/used for years. Our Spare rooms turn into storage areas !!

But she puts up with me - so still has enormous credit in the bank.

5% fail rate is pretty bloody high tbf

I would say that my wife and daughters are extremely poor at switching lights off / closing doors / windows on latch / tellies or devices off, yet apparently it’s my PlayStation that is costing us ££ of electricity each month when it’s left on standby !!
(Tried explaining to wife that just one of her boiled kettles that doesn’t get used for a cuppa uses more power than a PlayStation does in a week)

I just think women are not especially efficient when it comes to their own home, we’d be happy with the same decor, furniture , towels etc forever , but women somehow need to change stuff and invent things wearing out , so they can buy and move more stuff around. All this extra stuff helps make rooms too dark, hence leaving lights on , or too hot causing windows to be open for fresh air, then it’s too cold so we put the heat on….

Guys, woman just like to complain, and they like to give us lip and make things hard for us. It's because they're extremely jealous of us. They're jealous because we have dicks, and we don't have to bleed from them every month. We can stand and pee and don't need to sit on a cold toilet seat every time. We also have balls we can scratch when we're bored, and they don't. So, have some sympathy.

In fairness to the future Mrs PB, she isn't from a sporting family so really doesn't get the culture. I.e. her understanding of someone who plays a sport is you'd choose 4 or 5 weekends a year and play then, rather than play and train every week of a season. Being from a sporting family I assumed this was blindingly obvious.
