He has 60 years of experience, & I have none, but even I with zero experience was able to inform myself that such a legal action was liable for the accused demanding a "Speedy Trial" action, so that they might clear any stain on their reputation; & so the prosecution has to be able to go to trial within, not six months, but 60 days, or have the Judge dismiss the charges with jeopardy attached !!!

Yeah. It's a basic human right that you should receive a trial as soon as possible. She should be getting applauded not derided.

A speedy trial comes with benefits. But if there is simply a huge amount of work to do it would also seem fair to go to the judge and say you need a delay.

I'd be happier if the side saying they needed a delay could be trusted to state there's a lot of work they need to do, and could be trusted to do it rather than book media interviews generally swan around and then seek further delay.

I might wonder how much any of this can be a surprise, but I guess it's only ever fair to start the clock ticking with an indictment

Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged & Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential Election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this, I believe, Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment by a publicity & campaign finance seeking D.A., who sadly presides over a record breaking Murder & Violent Crime area, Atlanta. He bigs up his lead in the nomination race, but actually the polls coming out in the last week or so, are devastating to him, & any GOP candidate running in the down-ballot in November '24. He caps out at 60% of GOP voters wanting him, to just run for President, & 40% of all voters, & coincidentally ~60% of voters believe the 3 of the cases against him.

He appeals to his base, & that's it, & that's an ever shrinking number of people. If & when he wins the nomination, the GOP will lose the other races as well as the Presidency.

So a few minutes ago, watching CNN as Trump returned to the tarmac after processing, as he was about to say a few words to the gathered journalists, the sound on the ground cut out and Vann Jones in studio said something along the lines of "We can't hear him", so what Trump had to say went unheard and Vann Jones continued on, spouting The Agenda.
Switched over immediately to Fox and lo and behold the sound was just fine and Trump could be clearly heard briefly stating that the Georgia charges were unjustified and that what was happening constituted 2024 election interference. He then boarded the plane.
Tuned back to CNN and, having been deliberately denied Trump's actual words, we got instead that channel's (mis)interpretation of what Trump had said
