Don't know about the club game but he's always been a bit of a Lavanini in my mind at international.
Springboks vs All Blacks in London Town.
It’d get made up to a red in the bunker regardless. Nowhere near the ball, player on the ground, straight to the head, targeted and deliberate.Muttonbird wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:24 pm Rugby is a joke. This game particularly.
Bear in mind the first yellow was a team yellow.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

He’s thick and has two functional brain cells at the best of times but I don’t think he’s as malicious as Lavanini who seems to go out to deliberately injure players.
Barrett’s third red card. Won’t get the full discount, so likely four games? Does that cheap shot qualify for tackle school?
Definitely missing the France game.

It took an hour to play that first half. This is the state of Northern Hemisphere officiating. It suits the lumbering rugby that is played in South Africa and the home countries.
I think the record suggests otherwise.ScarfaceClaw wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:32 pmHe’s thick and has two functional brain cells at the best of times but I don’t think he’s as malicious as Lavanini who seems to go out to deliberately injure players.

When your players are cheap shotting men on the ground the clock tends to stop for a while.Muttonbird wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:33 pm It took an hour to play that first half. I've got to say, as abysmal and disjointed NZ have been, large chunks of this Bok team are playing well.
Faf needs to come off, he simply can't be first choice ahead of Hendrikse. He can bench and cover halfbacks.
Edit: or better, he goes to 10 this half

It did take a fair bit of time to send all those All Blacks to the sin bin.Muttonbird wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:33 pm It took an hour to play that first half. This is the state of Northern Hemisphere officiating. It suits the lumbering rugby that is played in South Africa and the home countries.
Not relevant to the game, but for some reason Sam Cane is reminding me more and more of Eddie Izzard.
We'd better fucking adapt to it fast or it won't matter how well we play.Muttonbird wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:33 pm It took an hour to play that first half. This is the state of Northern Hemisphere officiating. It suits the lumbering rugby that is played in South Africa and the home countries.

The Springboks need to nail the All Blacks from here. No relaxation allowed.

The Wallabies were leading 17-3 at HT in Dunedin...

Essentially there's a live second referee in front of the TV. Won't be long before he'll be making live or near live calls to the on-field referee, if that is not already happening.Gumboot wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:37 pmWe'd better fucking adapt to it fast or it won't matter how well we play.Muttonbird wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:33 pm It took an hour to play that first half. You are right though. This rubbish is a marker of how the World Cup will be officiated. Stop/start, 2 hour+ games. Try celebrations always tempered because the TMO has to have their say, looking for anything to disallow.
Barrett mostly seems to hit the shoulder. Still missiles into a player on the floor for no reason, but I don't think it's a red on its own without primary head contact.
2 yellows to a red is a 1 game ban right?

Would help if players stopped giving away penalties.... It's clear the ref is being strict, stop being stupid.Muttonbird wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:45 pmEssentially there's a live second referee in front of the TV. Not only has that already been happening, it happened for so long they decided to dial back on it.Muttonbird wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:45 pmEssentially there's a live second referee in front of the TV. No upgrade to red. I didn't think he targeted the head as was claimed but you'd never know because the second ref only showed that angle to the first ref once.Biffer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 7:26 pmIt’d get made up to a red in the bunker regardless. That's vindication for Barrett. This is why you can't have team yellow cards. Or, if you do have them, you can't pin the yellow direct to the player.
