Were you talking about his play in today's match, or 2020 more generally?

Some promise in this Stags side, but the usual inaccuracy hurting them.

Nice charge down of All Black Brad Weber, leading to a try to Southland hooker Pleasant-Tate one phase later.

One for Uncle Fucking Bully, Stags hold on with a gutsy scrum turnover in injury time. Great to see the legend Cabbage get on for 10mins and contribute.

Nice - that’s the record for Southland (oldest player) I think.

Yes, and the oldest NZ provincial player since 1908 according to Marshall.

That was easily the most enjoyable round of provincial rugby I've watched in many a year. I missed the Northland v Manawatu game, but the others were all fucking great. We need a team of the round...

You should start such a thread. I don't feel comfortable doing so as I didn't watch enough matches.

Yeah I wish I’d caught much more of these. Have only seen highlights. That try Will Jordan set up for the centre-was it Punivai?- was scintillating and is more evidence for me that Jordan should be an AB starter.

Gosh that was a gutsy display by Southland. Most often during the last decade they would have rolled over, but the new coach has at least got them ticking over. I thought Nicole's and Eade's knock-on's would have killed them, but all credit...

You could see how hungry they were. Scott Eades clearance kicks were life saving. The Bays line out wobbles may have saved us there.

Last 5 years we’ve been utter dogshit, but a decade ago was the middle of our golden generation. Winning the shield and making semi finals, with a large core of homegrown players. That’s probably what I miss the most, seeing Southlanders representing the team and excelling. In my younger days we seemed to try and rely on so many imports, many were absolute duds.

Naki side for the shield challenge.

Can't remember the last time I was this excited for an ITM Cup game. Canterbury will definitely have their work cut out, that's a high quality team. That's a really exciting young lock pairing. Most of us will be familiar with Va'i now, but I just had a look at Lord and he's only 18, already 202 cm and 106kgs. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Fair enough. Hope it's nothing serious with Ennor & Laumape already injured, ABs can't afford to lose him too.

I've done one, it's not mobile friendly yet and needs some features done but is basically there if you're interested?
