Nice timing to give the big boys a rest and let the dirt trackers stretch their legs.

So Willemse at 10 and Grant on the wing.

They are really vokking with a decent team that could be.
Faf on the bench so Grant will stay at wing.

I really can't understand why they don't just get Pollard in tbh.

I like the team, gives the also rans a chance to shake off some rust. Wonder if my prediction of Faf will come true here.

https://www.reuters.com/sports/south-af ... 023-09-14/
South Africa's World Cup title defence suffered a major blow on Thursday when hooker Malcolm Marx was ruled out for the remainder of the tournament with a long-term knee injury.

"Marx, who was not included in Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber’s matchday squad to face Romania in Bordeaux on Sunday, went down at training on Wednesday after having his knee caught in contact," the Springboks said in a statement.

"With the Springboks having the luxury of an enlarged 33-man squad in France for the international showpiece, and sufficient cover at hooker within the squad, he will not be replaced in the squad at this stage."

Coach Jacques Nienaber said that while the Springboks, who beat Scotland 18-3 in their Pool B opener, were now left with only one specialist hooker in the squad, other players could step into the role if needed.

Captain Oom has reviewed the Scotland match thread and decided to isolate us.

WaddleBoks only need a 4 try win here. On my reading of how pool order is decided (couldn't find anything official on World Rugby pages, I'm using Wiki), it's unlikely for points difference in pool matches to matter. Boks will either be level with the Scots on points (or have more points) and waddle through to the quarters, or there'll be a nightmare where the Scots have more points than the Boks and Ireland have beaten the Boks and have the same or more points which means the Boks waddling home.

"The ranking of teams in the pool stage was determined as follows:
Points obtained in all pool matches;
Points obtained in the matches played between the teams in question;
Points difference in all pool matches;
Tries difference in all pool matches;
Number of points scored in all pool matches;
Number of tries scored in all pool matches;
Official World Rugby Rankings;"

Doesn't look like waddling extra hard for points difference in pool matches is going to matter? Looks like getting one point from the Irish match is what matters.

Oom showed Romania huge disrespect.
Then Marx injured his knee.

I just hope that Oom's actions don't cost us the WC.

Fokken. Losing Marx is a huge blow to how we operate bomb squad rotation.

Tbh. I am not very excited about the match. Will definitely watch it tho. The wife has set up a smart tv in the bar that operates on a TV stick. Still trying to puzzle it out . Missus set up IPTV as an app so can watch all the rugby from my seat behind the bar. That's the beauty of a much younger wife. It's definitely going to be a walk in the park so everyone is going to look good and ultimately we will learn absolutely nothing from it.
Now the Aussies vs Fiji match....thats the one I am looking forward to

Will a match like this be a positive hindrance in prep for next week?

Largest margins were Aus v Namibia and NZ v Japan (the game where Ellis scored more tries than the entire current English team).
