Do you guys know, or like, Bremont watches?

I got given the VIP treatment from them a couple of years back with a mate of mine. Little did they know I am skint, but he has since bought one.

I've looked at them a couple of times, also spied an Elliot Brown special edition Op HERRICK. I don't know the quality of either but they look smart however, I can't justify the cost to myself when I've got a fairly expensive garmin.

We have been felling a lot of trees recently. I am quite comfortable doing it where there is space / I can cable the tree and pull it over to make sure it falls where I want it.

But we have had to get the professionals in for a few big trees close to buildings etc.

I have a couple of trees I am not 100% confident about, but the cost of hiring a tree surgeon means I can justify this. Even if I only use it once it has more than paid for itself.

Allbirds Tree Runners. Only got them a week ago so no idea about their durability yet, but I have to say they're pretty damn comfy.

I have them. My shoes of choice for (good weather) country walks. So comfy.

Technically not a purchase as we've got it on a monthly subscription deal. Really nice car with 75km full electric range - enough for most of our trips. Would have preferred full electric to PHEV but they don't have those (yet) and alternative options were only available on sign-your-life-away private lease deals.

I make too many platelets so got a folding treadmill to stop me sitting on my backside all day.

Like it a lot so far. It's on 6km speed max but given I've just done the cartilage on my knee a few weeks ago again and I've lost an ACL I don't think running is a good idea.

Bought one of these Helix Back packs to protect my Line 6 Helixs' delicate rotors, buttons, screen and dials.

Expensive for what it is, but not as much as a repair bill.

I had a shot on an old Leica rangefinder many years ago, looks like the Q2 is the digital equivalent but with AF?

I was going to ask you about the OM-D (I seem to recall you picked one up?) - my GH5 is struggling a bit with critical focus on wildlife, I was tempted by the Em-1x but it's getting longer in tooth and not sure if the newer OM is better

There's nothing more frustrating than an image where the bird's eye is ever so slightly soft, despite the focus point being right over it!

Q2 has AF but also manual. Really keen on the manual focus option. Same lens as Rangefinder with same options.

I was in Chobe River, Botswana twice last year - once with EM1X and one with OM-1. OM-1 bird/animal tracking far better but the EM1X is still pretty good. IQ of OM-1 is better. Same goes for rugby photos I take. AF is just a bit better but the EM1X had no real issues.

We are off to Sabi Sands, Kruger next weekend and I will be using OM-1 and 150-400 while my wife will use the EM1X (she is new to photography but can cope).

Enjoy - I've only been out to Africa the once, to Madikwe in SA and up into Namibia and the Kalahari - but it was wonderful.

I'll keep an eye on an EM1X, it really dipped in price as loads of people traded up to the OM-1, but it's picked up again. I was tempted by the Pentax K3iii - I've not yet gone firmly one way or the other between mirrorless and DSLR - but it's just far too expensive and the EM1-x is still about half the price.

Seems easy enough... cream, sugar, vanilla in the tub (which is frozen over night) and then turn the crank for 20 mins. I figure the exercise will burn off a significant amount of the indulgence.

That is proper marketing wankerteering. Burrs are indeed the most important part of a grinder which is why you should buy burrs from a company that makes lots of burrs

I really am struggling with my hips. Driving a bakkie is hard on that area. I finally conceded that I have to let go of this love of my life and move to a more comfortable car more suited to my age .I just have to add that I have never owned a new car , ever in my life....So I popped in to explore a few options. Going from a bakkie ( you just don't realise how much stuff gets stored in it. I can literally decide spur of the moment to go away for the weekend , and all that is needed is to load the bulky stuff and off we go. )
Sooooo......where do you go from here. I looked at panel vans , Thinking that there is more than enough space to get half the cricket team in there with their kit....but have you tried driving one.....and the best looking is Ford.....with their really bad reputation.
So I was in despair and my wife suggested a SUV. Never been big on SUVs. Imitation 4 wheel drives...My wife has the Haval thats 4 years old. A really comfortable car to drive I must say. our long distance and going out car. Its red and black but that was my wifes choice. I decided after a cricket practice with my youngest to pop into the local haval dealership . After floating around my son happened upon the new Jolian automatic. Vok me but its a nice vehicle. I fell in love immediately . Armed with this relevation my son and I went home super excited to tell my wife we had found it....
My wife was very upset. That I had gone with my son and not her......ok....understandable. So I tried to get her to the dealership to see it. Took about a week of grumpiness but eventually we got there. Once she sat inside the drivers seat she was completely hooked.

We bought the car. And my wife drives it now...and I get to drive it when we go out....My wife likes to share like that. I am driving her old Haval which is certainly a huge improvement for my hip situation and I sold my bakkie to my workshop manager on an easy payment plan with no interest.

Still have never owned a new car......
