What would he be now, 10th or 12th best lock in the British Isles?
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Not sure it’s as high as that. Great player, but this might be a Lions Tour too far. Since it’s Gats, though, 7/2 won’t be far off.

As many times as Martin Johnson had captained England prior to the 1997 Lions tour

Sky Bet have Jones at 9/4, Itoje at 3/1 and Farrell at 7/2.

And Irish company Boyle Sports have Jones as a clear market leader at 13/8.

Not a prerequisite but very desirable to have an experienced captain in charge.
For the record I don't think AWJ will even tour.
He will be old broken by then probably.

So - a few delusional Welshmen and some bookies trying to drum up business 10 months out from the tour actually happening. Not exactly compelling is it?

To be fair, after the six months of cobweb dusting his form might pick up. Will be interesting to see how on form players in March will be doing in a couple of months.

We know from past experience that any attempt at picking a squad this far out is an exercise in futility. Injuries and changes in form will have a big impact over the next 10 months.

Of course, merely a contribution on the topic of writing him off for consideration at this stage.

Fair enough. He'd make a good tour manager

Yeah, but it's fun watching the Welsh lose their shit.

True, although they will get to experience that from the other side when no Scots are selected beyond the usual token.

Recent history has shown its the Irish who have major meltdown's through over-inflating their players' abilities, and the Scots who go into depression. The English keep a stiff upper lip, and the Welsh produce the best stuff. Give or take.

I wouldn't argue if he was guaranteed to play. Top player, great leader and he's got the experience but he's 5th or 6th choice second row now though imo.

However many howevers there was supposed to be there, two is just too many.
One however however would have been just nice.
