“People remember him as the man who caused Brexit to save his own government. I think in European eyes he is so much discredited and no one will be keen to deal with him, which of course they will have to,” one senior source said.

If this isn't a pointed barb at the former SoS for the Home Office then I'm the Queen of Romania. Let's hope the gloves really come off and we get some quality in-fighting
Today's moves increase our election chances - Tory MP
Tobias Ellwood, Conservative MP for Bournemouth East, tells BBC Radio 5Live’s Naga Munchetty: "I think today’s changes will increase our election prospects.
"I’m really pleased to see this announcement draws a line on the challenges of last week and those unhelpful headlines."
He adds he's glad "there’s been a course correction to prove clarity of where the prime minister wants to go".

Yep Coffey gone! Another waste of space out of government
and now Health Secretary Steve Barclay was seen arriving at No 10 a short time ago.Sunak thanks Coffey for 'dedicated service'
As we reported minutes ago, Therese Coffey is no longer environment secretary - she says it's the "right time to step back from government".
In a just-published letter, the prime minister thanks her, and pays tribute to her "years of dedicated ministerial service" and friendship.

Well the emboldened part is certainly rather crafty
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-67370421Cameron’s appointment comes with risks and benefits
David Cameron comes to the role of foreign secretary with undoubted political weight - but he also comes with baggage.
Opposition MPs have already criticised his role in the Greensill lobbying controversy and the fact they will not be able to scrutinise the new foreign secretary in the House of Commons.
Nor are Eurosceptic Tory MPs exactly dancing for joy.
Cameron also brings with him foreign policy baggage from his time in No 10.
He is the man who held the Brexit referendum; the man who pushed for a “golden era” of closer relations with China; the man who backed military action in Libya which which left a near failed state in its wake.
But he also brings political heft. He may be the fourth foreign secretary in four years - but he is well known on the international stage.
Will the former PM use his undoubted political weight to shift UK foreign policy?
He has long been a friend of Israel but has in the past been willing to be candid and critical too.
He legislated to ensure the UK always gave 0.7% of its national income on foreign aid - a commitment Rishi Sunak cut to 0.5%.
So Cameron’s appointment comes with potential risks and benefits. One of his predecessors in Downing Street, Lord Rosebery, once said having a former PM in cabinet was "a fleeting and dangerous luxury",
Rishi Sunak, the Conservative Party, and the rest of the country, are about to find out if that is true.

That's such bollocks and so typical of our media. Bringing in some people who aren't as openly, cartoonishly far right as the likes of Braverman isn't the same as coming back to the centre.
"The Centre" in UK politics isn't where it used to be a decade ago. 3 steps left for the current Tories still gets them fitted for some brown shirts.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 2:20 pmThat's such bollocks and so typical of our media. It will be interesting to see the response of the extreme right wing nut jobs now that the Head Boy has changed teams half way through the game and realised that he wasn't going to win the next GE on an anti woke right wing wedge issues driven agenda. What's the story I wonder with 30p Lee? Seems as if he'll be out on a limb with the "new look". Will he keep his role but be told to wind his neck in or be the token populist Rottweiler?dpedin wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 3:06 pmIt will be interesting to see the response of the extreme right wing nut jobs now that the Head Boy has changed teams half way through the game and realised that he wasn't going to win the next GE on an anti woke right wing wedge issues driven agenda. Jesus fucking Christ Almighty, you might as well give an arsonist the keys to the fuel depot. Drill, baby drill!
To misquote Josiah Hardwood, I'd no more place the environment in the care of Barclay than I'd place my Jojn Thomas in the hands of a lunatic with a pair of scissors.
I wonder what the other Celebs will think of being stuck in the jungle with the right wing Twat Farage? Will they 'accept' him to avoid conflict in the jungle or will they tackle the Neo-nazi and his extremist views? I imagine a few might be well pissed off if they didn't know about him and find themselves in a difficult position. I know this is exactly what ITV want us all to think and therefore tune in and watch but it could be interesting? All depends on the other contestants I suppose.

The merciless piss taking of him was cut out and songs sung to him mimicking Maggies voice were not shown.
There was a feeling they wanted him to win for greater publicity

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... Right.html... in which she will be expected to focus on combating 'wokery'.
Ms McVey, a former work and pensions secretary under ex-PM Theresa May, will officially be known as a minister without portfolio.
But No10 suggested the 56-year-old Liverpudlian would likely be known as 'common sense minister' and would 'stand up for working people'.

Well, there is Andrea has realised the appalling state of the country after a series of Tory government. One might quibble with her conclusions on what to do, whether that right leaning within the Tory Party and Brexit supporting Rishi Rich isn't sufficiently rabid and/or of pure enough vision, or even just more generally that the right thing to do would be to give the loons who screwed the country up yet more time to damage the economy, the police, the health service, the environment, peoples' rights..., but at least she seems to recognise damage has been wrought

None so far have managed to neatly address why they've lacked for common sense these last few years such they had to send for Esther McVey, the plain spoken Scouser or plain spoken Northerner depending on which list of briefing points from No.10 the person talking to the media had just been glancing at
Is her solution to bring back Boris? I remember when Esther Mcvey announced she was giving up morning tele and was going to become a Tory MP.
Her companion on the couch asker her "what don't; you think there are enough unemployed people".
She also insisted everyone in social housing should start businesses out of them, and use them as office, inferring everyone was lazy not to do so. Insisting they lacked ambition and aspiration.
She was adamant about this for months.
Around 2% of social housing tenants can start a business out of their Social Housing and council house.. as doing so would go against practically everyones tenancy agreement. Think your social housing provider cannot recategorise their social housing as business addresses, as it would really fuck them up and out of various tax benefits.
