Arriving in Marseille on Thursday night on a work jolly.

Need recommendations for eating and drinking on Friday please. We are staying 5mins walk from the marina.

Also, what time should we start heading to the Velodrome? Heard there were issues during the WC.

Cheers

If what you’re calling the marina is the vieux port, you should eat around there, then take the metro to the Velodrome.

I don’t think you’ll see the same problem than during the RWC, as it’s not the same organization in charge of the ticketing.Torque went there a few times, PM him.

The 6 nations has been on DSTV for as long as I remember. Even before we had TV (1976) we followed it. There is now probably more interest because we play URC and Champion/Challenge Cup.

Depending on your fitness level, it’s a 2.5 mile ish walk from the port to the ground. Plenty of pit stops en route, we had lunch at Le Relais Corse which did a job

French team is struggling with the injuries in the second row and front row (less in the backrow as depth is ok there).

This is going to be tight with O'thief screwing us as usual.

Eat and drink has to be Bouillabaisse and vin rosé, obviously. I can recommend Michel at plage de catalans, best reserve in advance:

Yeah the 6N has been around forever on TV here. But in general every international rugby game is on tv here, even many of the tests between smaller nations will be on at least 1 of the sport channels. That is for just about every sport followed over here.
6N always had a decent following here as it tends to be during a time where there is no or little local rugby. Also there are a lot of people living here with roots to 6N countries.

Willemse was not in the group to start with and leaps above all the other second row this makes little sense.

otherwise as good as we can

6/2 bench, I've not really been paying attention, does Farrell go for that often? Or is it just the expected heft of the French pack that warrants it?

Edit, France have gone 6/2 too.

The South Africa effect, perhaps

Fair enough, I didn't realise that.

Is it De Allende or Kreil, the one in the middle who looks like action man?

And I'm not going to speculate on what's happening/just happened/about to happen to poor old Kwagga.

It is Kriel in the middle. He looked like an action figure for as long as I can remember. Even in his early days at the Bulls he looked like that.

Well we now know the teams, so I'll answer my own question on who'll be blowing the whistle

France v Ireland (Marseille)
Referee: Karl Dickson (Eng)
ARs: Matthew Carley (Eng) & Jordan Way (Aus)
TMO: Ben Whitehouse (Wal)
