Not really. The result of that game is immaterial to us. For the Bulls, they could potentially finish top.

There is no reason for us to win that match. Unless you are a Stormers supporter wanting the Sharks to do them a favorassfly wrote: Mon May 27, 2024 6:49 amNot really. The result of that game is immaterial to us. For the Bulls, they could potentially finish top.

No pride for the badge from the Sharks? I'd be very angry if the Stormers gooi their game to help the Lions get a run in. Fuck them, they need to work for it.assfly wrote: Mon May 27, 2024 6:49 amNot really. The result of that game is immaterial to us. For the Bulls, they could potentially finish top.

It's weird how the calendar worked out. How can we go from being crowned the CHAMPION$ OF €UROPE* one week to playing a dead rubber in the last game of the season.
I saw we put our weakest XV out and call it the contract decider. Let's see them play for an actual living.

Probably because the Sharkies were terrible in the URC this year. However, that challenge cup win was absolutely crucial to their next season. Well done, I watched the game and just kept asking myself where in heaven's name was this team and performance the whole season. It really is one of those questions that we'll never get the answer to. Anyway, it does not matter. One more game for them against the Bulls for pride in the jersey and then regroup for what will be a massive season next year.assfly wrote: Mon May 27, 2024 6:56 am It's weird how the calendar worked out. Happy for you guys, I was pretty stoked hearing how sour the commentators were about a Saffa team winning the cup. So that in itself already was win win for me.

We'll that's something we can all get behind!LoveOfTheGame wrote: Mon May 27, 2024 7:23 am Happy for you guys, I was pretty stoked hearing how sour the commentators were about a Saffa team winning the cup. So that in itself already was win win for me.![]()

I sometimes wonder what the two of you would be like sharing a beer. I can honestly say I'd happily share a beer with all the saffa posters here, but I do wonder if you two could go 5 minutes without sprouting shyte about the Stormers or Sharks.

I got him and his wife VIP tickets to a George 7s tournament some time ago and myself and family sat in the pavillion and bought my own drinks and food.LoveOfTheGame wrote: Mon May 27, 2024 9:23 am I sometimes wonder what the two of you would be like sharing a beer. Don't know about that. We moved from the VIP eventually. Not great seats. Behind the try line and there was more fun to be had with the regular boytjies at the Wellington brandy stand. Met up with some lads from the Silver fern. But ja. Was awesome to feel special whilst we were there. Your problem ouboet is that as a plaasjappie you don't get Soutie banter.

How low do you want to go?
A plattelander is the salt of the earth and will go far. I am a very patient person but a Soutie like you are either to stupid to know where to stop.

You : I don't want to go to the Spur ...
W : I thought you loved the Spur. I have been going there all this time just to please you.
You: no honey. That's not what I meant

It's great to see him playing.
Not so great when he disappears most of the season.
There are a few that have hardly played at all. Vincent Koch is one of them.
See what you achieve when your signings actually play

Be careful what you wish for.
You now have Kitshoff as your marquee signing. Let's hope he is available for most of your games or we can revisit this conversation later

Cannot for the life of me understand why they would put out such a strong side for the Bulls.
This is the perfect opportunity to give the youngsters a run.
It's a meaningless match in terms of the URC and noone would judge them if the Bulls walked away with the 5 points.
Is it
1. Giving the Bulls tough opposition ahead of the finals to battle harden them.
2. For pride.
Don't get it

Notsche coming back home to the Stormers
Terrible injury run. Like all the other Sharks players ,he will go back to the Stormers a better player. Just now we will be able to call the Stormers Sharks #2

Need to take you back. He left the Stormers as a Springbok and got injured, left because of Kolisi, then Kolisi followed him at the Sharks and he lost out again. He come back to the Stormers with a massive pay cut, will replace Dayimani.Sards wrote: Sun Jun 02, 2024 4:06 pmTerrible injury run. He's a mercenary ouboet. His allegiance is to his pocket. Just like every other player
Well that game felt like a fitting end to the season. Just so poor in all departments. Glad that's over, at least we've got some silverware and some new signings coming in.
I'm not too worried about waving goodbye to Bosch. He probably should have made this move 2 years ago. Same for Notshe, he was fantastic when we signed him but has had a rough few months.

$harks departures and my thoughts on them:
Anthony Volmink - was a poor signing. Currie Cup level player.
Lionel Cronje - we under-utilised him. Should have started ahead of Bosch before Masuku arrived.
Werner Kok - very sad to see him go. He's become a stalwart player and leaves a great legacy of hard work and smiles.
Le Roux Roets - good player but low in the pecking order of locks which was always going to lead to small game time.
Curwin Bosch - never reached his 2019-2020 form when he was at his best. Good luck to him in France, but I won't miss him
Aphiwe Dyantyi - I thought he was ok in his few appearances, but obvioulsy couldn't crack the Mapimpi/Kok partnership. I don't see him getting anymore gametime at the Bulls with their squad.
Murray Koster - good player but never saw enough of him to think he's a star for the future.
Boeta Chamberlain - a bit hard done by, but rightfully lost the 15 jersey to Fassi. I would have liked for him to stay.
Sikhumbuzo Notshe - unlucky with injuries, but he was an excellent player for us. Hope he earns a decent package abroad.

There were too many passengers anyway
I believe there are actually more going too. I hear Nevaldo Fleurs and Diego Appolis are also going. But yes, we needed to clear out the dead weight after that season.Sards wrote: Tue Jun 04, 2024 11:00 am None of those bar Werner will be missed. Who will replace Werner on the wing.........?

We've got Marnus Potgieter, Eduan Keyter and Muller du Plessis on the wing but there is not much pedigree there so I assume we'll need to make some signings. The only incoming I've heard of is AE.
With Trevor and Jason Jenkins coming our forwards look good. But definitely a bit thin in the backs.
