Two magnificent games of rugby and two well-deserved finalists.
Bloody hell, Glasgow!
Bloody hell, Glasgow!
This was noticeable. I was watching Twitter updates and from 72 minutes to 74 minutes took 7 minutes by the clock.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Just got home from Loftus and got the pleasant surprise that i can go and watch the final next week instead of sitting in front of the tv. Hope they fill up the stadium next week. Over 30k there today i think. Was nice and loud today. So need to fill up the top tier on the open stand next week.

It would be good if there's a full house for the Final, even if they have to hand out tickets to school kids, & their parents.bok_viking wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 7:19 pm Just got home from Loftus and got the pleasant surprise that i can go and watch the final next week instead of sitting in front of the tv. It is school holidays, so depends how many are home or on holiday somewhere else. But I think it is very likely it will be close to sell out seeing how people reacted after the game and luckily the presidential inauguration will now be on the 19th, not on the Saturday. Already heard from a few people planning to drive up from Cape Town and Durban for the game.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 8:09 pmIt would be good if there's a full house for the Final, even if they have to hand out tickets to school kids, & their parents.bok_viking wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 7:19 pm Just got home from Loftus and got the pleasant surprise that i can go and watch the final next week instead of sitting in front of the tv. Now the Bulls might be without Willie as well next week.

_Os_ wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 4:10 pm Le Roux was really good in that first half. When he was sending cross field kicks and Leinster adapted and pushed up defenders then he switched to kicking deep off his left boot, simple but brilliant. Hit the line and offloaded a few times. He's so good when he's on it.
Loftus DJ needs to be told no Yank or Euro pop, not intimidating at all. Needs to play Leeuloop, that fucking nie van die vloer af nie song, Ge and an accordion, watching your team getting pumped as the crowd are singing boeremeisies rule or some kak. The painful memories associated with those songs will go with me to the grave.

Watching the Munster game and again big performances by Karel Steyn and Henko Venter. Venter has been a different player since leaving the Sharks like Thomas Tenk.
Are you feeling better about being knocked out now.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 7:08 pmDidn't you said Glasgow was the kakkest team the Stormers can lose to ?
Nah. Stormers are kak this year. Bulls are growing.
It's not the Stormers who are the bee all of rugby. The Bulls are just reaffirming their dominance. Stormers, Lions and Sharks are just making up the numbers. Bulls are a championship side who have won multiple Superrugby titles and are making a name for themselves in the URC . Jake has a plan. Watch him target the Champions Cup next year.
Lions are scrappers. Love to watch them play.
Stormers are frustrating to watch and their supporters are arrogant.
Sharks are starting to click. Expecting a huge turnaround next year. Especially with the cattle coming into the squad.
Bulls are just class. No matter which franchise you support you have to love them and support them.
A lot of players have made their mark abroad after being groomed at the Sharks.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 3:48 am Watching the Munster game and again big performances by Karel Steyn and Henko Venter. Venter has been a different player since leaving the Sharks like Thomas Tenk.
Let's be honest. What would the Stormers do without all the players groomed at the Sharks that they have now.
It's a bit hilarious that you should suggest that they got better after leaving the Sharks. They were always good players. You just never acknowledged it because you can't see beyond your Stormers bias.
Us Sharkies don't rubbish our players who achieve after leaving us. I always liked the Tank. Was very sad when he left and Andre Esterhuizen too. But it has been a pleasure watching them grow as players abroad and I salute them. I salute Manie, Evan, Reuben, Nohamba etc. Too many names to mention. But we are like that. Once they have been touched by the Sharks environment they will always be in our hearts.
I have to say I was very reluctant to leave Superrugby. I just thought we would be lowering our standards and that this would expose us against the All Blacks. How could I not have seen that playing the All Blacks and New Zealand sides in rugby just improved their level. And made them so formidable. Leaving them just weakened them and removed that aura of invincibility.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 3:43 amYou are on the money. We love the URC. Best move SARU has ever made.
In the process the NH sides are growing in stature.
So yeah. I admit my mistake and am fully bought into the European tournaments

It's taken a while for Henco to settle, but in the latter part of this season (from the 6N onwards) he's been brilliant. Brings another hard edge when the ScotOz Dempsey goes off.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 3:48 am Watching the Munster game and again big performances by Karel Steyn and Henko Venter. He failed a HIA in the 2nd half and White said afterwards he will be assessed on Monday or Tuesday to see if its an actual head injury or if it is mostly a stiff neck. But at this point he said it looks like willie will miss the final. KLA had an operation on his fractured cheek bone and inserted a plate, so definitely not ready for the final, touch and go for the Ireland tests, I guess if ready for the tests he will play with a mask as well.Sards wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 4:41 amWhat's up with Wilie.
