When the moderator fact checked him, his response was classic: “Someone on tv said it was happening”, as if that automatically means it is the truth.
That's the bit they should clip up. A man that doesn't review material and listen to sensible advisors to take an informed decision, one that merely watches something on TV and then acts/governs on the basis of nonsense.

In essence, he's mad, he's lazy, he's not fit to run a jumble/rummage sale
Surely anyone who would watch that clip and draw such a conclusion already knows that about him?

I know there are undecided voters out there (or at least people who poll that way. If polling day got moved up to tomorrow, I suspect almost all would know who's getting their vote), but I struggle with the idea that they're swayed by anything substantive.

You're not looking to sway undecided voters, you want (what passes for) moderate Republican voters to think they should just sit this one out. People who don't like the Dems for fair or BS reasons, but also don't want four years of day to day chaos and drama

That comes back to the idea that surely anyone leaning that way has already seen and heard all they need to about Trump. Is one more clip going to sway them after nearly a decade of his inattention to detail and lack of regard for the truth has been on full display in the political arena?

Better minds than mine work on this stuff and have access to much better data about who still needs to be or could be reached, I'm just incredulous that anyone could not know how they feel about Trump at this point.

Welcome to the wonder of the Electoral College !

It's just as fucked up as FPTP, & means that loons like the Traitor can be as bad as they are, & still get their hands on the Nuclear codes.

The ad blitzes they have in the USA are nothing like what we have here. One really needs to think in volume, and for the most part with a total lack of subtlety.

Germany's foreign ministry have taken the rare step of openly addressing a political campaign, rebuffing Trump's claims about Germany's energy market...

https://www.politico.eu/article/germany ... sil-fuels/

Germany’s foreign ministry hit back Wednesday at former U.S. President Donald Trump after he criticized the country’s energy policy at the presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump slammed Germany in his closing remarks, claiming Berlin regretted its decision to transition to renewable energy.

“You believe in things like we’re not going to frack, we’re not going to take fossil fuel, we’re not going to do things that are going to be strong, whether you like it or not,” he said, addressing Harris.

“Germany tried that, and within one year, they were back to building normal energy plants,” he added.

But the German foreign ministry took umbrage at that, blasting Trump in an unusually blunt statement on social media.

“Like it or not: Germany’s energy system is fully operational, with more than 50 percent renewables,” the ministry wrote. “And we are shutting down — not building — coal and nuclear plants. Coal will be off the grid by 2038 at the latest.”

“PS: We also don’t eat cats and dogs. #Debate2024,” the statement added, referring to Trump repeating a widely debunked claim that undocumented immigrants were eating people’s pets in Ohio.

Among the other casualties of last nights debate performance, was the orange felons net worth, as he lost ~$200M in the valuation of the shares he holds in his shitty SM company.

[Edit] Dispite the Andrew'esque bravado claiming that the debate went well afterward, the panic has clearly struck, as the gutless shitstain in the Speakers seat has pulled the vote to continue funding, so now the US is looking at the 8th? Government shutdown caused by this GOP.

Now those few Republicans with functional brains know that this will be disasterous for all those GOP candidates on the down ballot in November, so they'd already privately admitted that the DNC was going to control the House, but a dumb shit stunt like this might put their control of the Senate in doubt, because they just don't have that much margin to play with.

Kamala disappointed me in one area. When Trump challenged her on why she had not achieved the things she was talking about in the last 3.5 years, it was a perfect set-up for her to explain what the Biden administration had achieved in lowering inflation, increasing manufacturing jobs, creating new, well-paying jobs, lowering the unemployment rate, etc., then segue into "but there is still a lot of work to be done, things we have not got to yet".

One of the talking heads made a great point. What viewers last night saw was someone playing him like a fiddle, Kamala laid out bait, & he gobbled up every bit; he couldn't resist it, even when all his debate prep will have been full of warnings not to go for the bait.

He.couldn't.control.himself !!!

So this gave the viewers an insight into why the Dictators & Autocrats of the world loved him* !, they would flatter him, & tell him what a genius he was, & then they'd pull Americas pants down & roger them !

He's still getting off so lightly on places like the BBC - phrases like Heated and Feisty and him being Thrown off Message - rather than the complete insane shit show he was.

I've seen a new term today - sane washing.

Agreed - the strategy was to lure Trump into bullshitting and then bullshitting even more. Why take away his spade once he had started digging a hole, just tempt him into going deeper and deeper. There was no win in trying to talk rationally about the economy with Trump, he would just come back with even more bullshit - It's the trying to play chess with a pigeon analogy. I thought Harris was excellent at baiting Trump and the sight of a black woman telling some home truths about him and laughingly deriding his attempts to bullshit must have really got under his tango orange peel skin. Trump will be feckin furious he was publicly belittled and put in his box by a black woman, this was a very public humiliation in his eyes. I'm glad I'm not one of his happy helpers having to explain to him that he lost the debate. However if he does win the next election then he will go after her for revenge.

There really is only a limited number of questions available on the topics that were going to be discussed. So not surprising that a prepared candidate will sound familiar with the questions.

I did not intend to suggest I thought she didn't do a good job. She was magnificent, at times awesome. She hit her straps and was not scared to turn to him, pointing at him, and saying "you're a disgrace".

She was strutting her stuff and damn, she has some good stuff.

In the World of Boxing or UFC, when a Fighter gets beaten or knocked out, they get up and scream, “I DEMAND A REMATCH, I DEMAND A REMATCH!” Well, it’s no different with a Debate. She was beaten badly last night. Every Poll has us WINNING, in one case, 92-8, so why would I do a Rematch?

No. Bibi knew damn well that Biden had zero wiggle room in an Election year to do anything but give unqualified support (or at least say it was unqualified, & then justifiably compain about the excesses).

The pants pulling that comes to mind was the recognition of Jerusalem as Israels Capital; & the parallel plan to build a US Embassy there. It was the equivalent of agreeing the building a US Embassy to Russia in Crimea !

It might have been very maginally less horrific if it was tied to unrevokable committments on the two state solution, but no, the master of the deal gave it away without a single string attached !

I think the investors left in that little sham of a company might get screwed by the end of the month. I believe the the restriction on Trump selling his shares expires at the end of this month. I think there is a big likelihood that he would want to cash in on whatever value is left and leave the rest of the shareholders completely screwed. Though I have no sympathy for anyone who invested in the sham in the first place.
