He knows exactly what he’s doing but I reckon he’s standing his ground. White rolling around Sexton style

Stands his ground but clearly raises his profile to get in the way of White, who was edging to try go around
Perhaps if he spent less time edging and more time trying to actually change direction in any way he might be more successfulTheNatalShark wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 2:55 pm Stands his ground but clearly raises his profile to get in the way of White, who was edging to try go around

Very surprised Scotland not pinged for holding on adjacent of the ruck
I don't mind them call. Becomes a proper grey area if there's head contact though.
Ever so slightly turns so that contact is made with his upper arm and away from his head.
It's not a tackle situation, he is the vulnerable player with someone sprinting hard directly at him and given he has few legal options here, allowing him to brace a tiny bit to protect himself is well within "rugby incident" status.

Have sides developed an allergy to taking 3 points?

So can we say Pendergast braced yesterday.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 3:00 pmEver so slightly turns so that contact is made with his upper arm and away from his head.

No, because Prendergast a) moved across illegally to block and b) put the shoulder into the jaw tooBlackmac wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 3:04 pmSo can we say Pendergast braced yesterday.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 3:00 pmEver so slightly turns so that contact is made with his upper arm and away from his head.

His was a deliberate illegal action.
It's more like how the laws allow ball carriers to brace for contact in exactly the same way. It's just common sense
