Will be a devastating injury for us.

I thought Stafford was maybe they pick of the backs on both sides last night but Glasgow still missed Sione, as any side in world rugby would currently

Not a doctor but must be a sprain, a torn pecking and you'd know quickly. They do in the nfl anyway.
Yeah, a full tear and it would be fairly obvious something was seriously amiss. Fingers crossed.

Healy is having his best game in Edinburgh colours for a while. His kicking from hand and tee is superb

Lewis Wells is a big laddie but he looks a bit overawed, he should just run with the ball in hand and trust his team mates to recycle

Doesn’t seem to back himself to go straight down the line, either lacking the pace or power to go around/through the defender so often cuts back inside where there is no space.

Bradbury got sent off at 34 minutes, Healy was lucky to not get another red but he got yellow, plus there was a yellow card for Schoeman. It was a disjointed performance from us and encapsulated our season so far, the good stuff was very good (the two hookers showed bags of power in the tight, some decent handling and pace from the usual suspects, Healy's kicking was excellent) but when we were bad we were awful, as they say - lots of inaccuracies

I saw a few tweets suggesting the Bradbury red wasn’t a red, but for me it was a stick on. He wasn’t particularly low, neither was the ball carrier, there was no change of direction and the contact was violent to the head (albeit it looked to me like it may have been head to upper back rather than shoulder). Did anyone here think it wasn’t red?

We have one. Second in group
That’s what I thought looking at the table. Is it a seeding thing they are playing for then, there is some sort of reward for winning I thought? Not that it’s likely at this point.
Top of the group mean you’re at home in the quarterfinal as well as last 16
TOTM has posted the permutations elsewhere. It’s most likely Munster, might be Leicester and low odds (Beverly low odds) Benetton.

Actually, just checked the scores and it looks to be Leicester as Toulouse handed out a spanking.

So by losing last night Glasgow have got Leicester at home then potentially Leinster away in the Qtr’s.

A win would have been Sale at home then a potential trip to Toulouse.

Neither are great options with regards to the qtrs !

At some stage you need to come up ( & beat , if you want to progress) the higher ranking teams.

I’d take Leinster over Toulouse (or UBB to be honest) at this point.

Glasgow won't beat anyone if they don't step up from that performance yesterday. They were shocking in every department but especially the back row who were anonymous, which is worrying when you think it is virtually Scotlands starting back row.

Not sure that’s completely fair.

Front row were fine although, and bearing in mind I know nothing about the front row, I did wonder if one of the reasons Matthews isn’t getting picked for Scotland is his scrummaging. He’s between 2 class props and I kept expecting them to put the heat on but it didn’t happen.

Cummings going off seemed a big issue, he obviously brings a fair bit of bulk but also his leadership. I thought Fagerson and Dempsey were fine but Darge just isn’t dominating games like we hoped he would.

Controversial here, but I did think Marcus Smith showed the difference between top stand off and someone still learning with Jordan. I thought McDowell was the best back on the pitch.

I have to say, I don’t find the back 3 massively inspiring.

Just as a unit it was a bad night and nothing stuck. It was also a team that knew they had a home game in the bag against a team that was fighting for a place, at home.

I think Blackmac is largely correct in that Glasgow will need to improve massively from Saturday to stand a chance of progressing any further - the Glasgow supporters keep on about the culture at the club, it was sadly missing against Quins.
However I would expect them to beat Leicester at Scotstoun, but (probably) Leinster in Dublin in the Heineken Cup? Obviously I'd love them to stick one on the Dubs at home but it will be tough.

Edinburgh were gubbed by the Lions in South Africa and although this coming game is at the Hive I have no optimism about Edinburgh at all at the moment.

Of course Leinster are playing Quins so if Quins were to win in Dublin Glasgow would get a rematch at Scotstoun (I presume, being the higher seed). I could actually see Quins doing it, they have some proper gamechangers (like Smith) and will have the confidence the top English sides always seem to have.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the belief and on the park leadership went awol when we were missing the club captain and national captain. Both are so important to how we perform.

There were still hugely experienced leaders in the team on Saturday, international and club captains in Darge and McDowall, plus other very experienced leadership group players like the two Fagersons, Jones, Sutherland, Dempsey etc. I think Josh McKay and Euan Ferrie were the only non full international players who started.

Wise words. One of the things that has impressed me about Glasgow under Smith's direction is how much their decision making and speed of thought and reaction have improved. These are the hallmarks of really good sides and the sort of features one notes in the better NZ and SA sides. I'm not suggesting Glasgow are at some astral level, I'm simply saying when they're at their best, they're very hard for opponents to keep up with. But we all have our off days, and against Harlequins, I think some of the pressure-moment decisions - pass right or left, bash on as far as one can or take the tackle and recycle, amongst other things - weren't up to their usual standard. Points were left on the field in the first half particularly. It happens, and it's how they react that matters now.

I fully agree Cummings' departure was quite influential. The line-out was a bit of a mess. The backs were also rather uncharacteristically slow to adapt to some of the wider channel attacks. I thought Smith played well, kicking and turning Glasgow repeatedly; Glasgow might have been better to hazard the same, rather than attacking
from deep quite so often. Glasgow didn't kick that well beyond SH when they did try that. Glasgow still got in behind Quins repeatedly, but repeatedly didn't manage to follow it up.

But hey, ho, all still to play for.

And let's be objective - Harlequins fronted up pretty well. Cunninngham-South was a real handful and his back-row colleagues didn't do badly either.

Outrageous offside for the third Quins try of course, but no point in whinging. Even though I of course am.

Quite. McDowall would be the other option, but all of these are significant downgrades on Sione. Just bloody typical that he manages to get an injury in training in a week when Glasgow were resting him.

I’d be inclined to put Hutchinson in and give the defences something else to think about. But I reckon Toony will go with McDowall, and Hutchinson and Jordan will fight over the bench spot.

Gutted as well but injuries are part of the game and it was inevitable that someone was going to drop before the first match. I am more worried about the Cummings shaped hole than the Sione one but that’s more to do with who is available to fill it. Hopefully Johnny G is back to his best !

I find it a bit odd that Townsend isn't adding anyone to the squad - that's only three locks (Gilchrist, Gray and Sykes). Is Williamson injured? Skinner would seem the logical bet if so.

I know he's a very different player to Tuipulotu, but I reckon Hutch is one of the best 12s in the Premiership at the moment, he's at the core of so much of what Saints do well. It's a shame (and a waste I think) that he doesn't get more game time for Scotland but Townsend doesn't seem to favour him.

I'd have Henderson ahead of Skinner.
