Allow it? It would be a gift to him. Imagine trying to hold an election in a war zone, getting the population to assemble at key locations while your opponent lobs missiles at them.

What a stupid fucking idea.
Gee good point

Its the sort of comment supporters or investors in the MIC complex would make. To keep this pointless war going. These types hate Trump of course
Tell you what, Ukraine will do free and fair elections if Russia does the same.

All the senior JAG officers gone, too. Almost as if they are trying to replace anyone who might be slightly concerned about US soldiers committing war crimes.

Reuters reporting that the US is threatening to shut off Ukraine's Starlink if they don't agree to sign over all their minerals.

If I were Zelensky, I would sign them over provided USA helped kick Russia out to pre-war borders.

Then after peace signed, I would tell him to fuck off.

What would the deal even look like? He talks like it's a medieval guild/prince handing over literal containers of minerals. Practically, would it open doors for an American business to do the extraction, etc? Could bog them down in negotiations for years (i.e. until Trump dies).

The USA, or rather Trump, isn't willing to do that. He thinks he should get those rights for aid already supplied.

Indeed. He's treating Ukraine like a bunch of Manhattan Teamsters at a building site, with no regard for any future instability across Europe. Cnut.

Exactly this, just shrug and say it was the art of the deal, the agreement with Trump was an atrocity , rename Rhode Island to crimea island , and just get in with it.

Increasing looking like the best option all round is waiting for trump and Putin to die, head down to the Winchester for a pint and wait for it all to blow over

To my Republican colleagues, did you ever imagine that you would be in a party that stands on the side of dictators. Aren't you embarrassed by what you've become? It's revolting to watch my colleagues side with Russia because Trump said so.

Seeing mention of Ken Paxton one is reminded of just how much corruption has been legalised in the USA already, and now rather than steps being taken to make it easier to put such people in jail they're rapidly looking to move in the other direction.

Yep. He demanded a new free trade agreement. Which was of course so much better than the previous free trade agreement. Then pukes all over it. Almost like the US isn't a serious country any more that you can work with in good faith.

I don't think it's about the details to many American voters, they just see Trump out there talking big every day and sticking it to other world leaders. We're winning!!

Yup.

The amusing thing is, Trump and the US public don’t already realise how much they are winning by. In last couple of decades , where Europe & Uk have not really progressed on any metric , they have pulled away on their valuations, productivity, jobs etc
Last 2 years and the big 7 have turbo charged this.

One thing that is discerninably different with Trump 2.0 is the way in which he got the Tech titans on board. The refusal of the WAPO to endorse a candidate was a sea change moment imo. The captains of industry are in his corner this time around rather than in opposition.

On that I rather think the tech titans with their resources had a very clear idea of who was actually going to win and made sure they kept of the right side of a spiteful vindictive administration

What the tech bros don't want is to be regulated or taxed. Diaper Donnie was far and away their best bet for that and that's exactly why Musk and Zuck set their platforms as right wing propaganda machines.

It's also why they're quite happy to facilitate schism between the States and Europe and within Europe. Whether it's forcing Apple into using USB-C on all their devices instead of proprietary designs or speech in the digital space regs being mooted, the EU can actually wield a pretty heavy hand and force them to change how they do business. Elon's also really fucked off about Scandinavians striking to force him to enter and honour collective bargaining agreements with Tesla employees in Sweden, plus all the lawsuits from the summary firing of so many Twitter employees.

Where exactly do you get your information from ?

Debt levels in the US are exploding, property prices are plummeting, but rents are stubbornly high because of interest rates, expenses for things like Health & Property insurance are out of control, & just the basics like paying for groceries are a challenge.

Jobs data is meaningless when people have to work two jobs just to be able to keep their heads above water, because their Employers feel free to treat them like slaves.

Then you have the minor problem of the ripples from black economy, where the new immigration policies means that crops will rot in the fields, & whole sections of the SME world just become unsustainable with the withdrawal of illegal labour.

Biden had been doing good work in actually bringing back properly paid jobs to the US; but the offshoring has been happening for fifty years, so even making a dent in reversing that process is going to take decades, & you still come back to fundamentals like the way the Oligarchs love their H1B visa employees, because they don't have massive amounts of debt, like their American peers, so they can bring in ten of them, pick the best 1-2 & send the others back, & all for a fraction of the cost of one American !!

If the Traitor actually gave one shit about making America great again; he wouldn't put tariffs on goods, he'd put tariffs on visas !
