That was fantastic from Bristol - brilliant handling - shame the last pass was a fraction forward.

What a finish for a big lump of a second row! Travesty that it won't count.

Lovely play all round from Bristol.

Bristol putting on a show here! Shame the pass was forward, would have been an epic finish for a 2nd row...

Bristol’s back play has been mesmeric at times!

Looks like Brizzle want to turn this game into a lung buster.

Thacker is just too small for a modern hooker, he is getting tossed around like a ragdoll.

Toulon undoing them on the floor. That was also an area they suffered against Wasps. The desire to go wide is laudable, but, as the old cliche goes, they need to earn the right.

Toulon go in 16-10 ahead - harsh scoreline for Brizzle after dominating the 1st half. But Toulon were winning the hits and picked a few turnovers and penalties as a result.

Just seen the replay of the hit on Semi, how did they miss that on all the replays? Brace has missed a lot in this game, he really is having a poor game.

And it's all square again. Bristol keeping the tempo going - who will run out of gas 1st - approaching the final qtr now.

Should be enough of a lead and well deserved. Bristol have played a great deal more of the rugby.

Yep - they've played superbly - very positive.

13 points up now and I don't think that flatters them at all - great to watch.

Nice one Brizz! Great rugby, thought you would get reamed with all the injuries and drop-outs... shows how much I know.

Well Done Brizzle, they come a long way since Mitch Eadie and Gav on half a leg were game turners for them

Very good win against that Toulon side, in France. And they could have won by quite a few more. I enjoy the way they play - always likely to come a cropper but they are very enterprising - that disallowed try would have been a masterpiece. I think that big defensive effort, in the last 20 , when Toulon were inches from the line, really sapped Toulon's energy and spirit - thereafter Brizzle played it very efficiently and never gave them another lookin.

Hope Exeter can do the double for us tomorrow.

Fuck.

I wonder if it's more academy lads or some senior squad members. Last time it was initially reported as players and then revised to academy players.

Yep, a lot riding on the final round of testing.

Possibly more likely to be academy, given the first lot were and they tend to cohabit in shared houses etc. You can bet they'll have had no academy kids holding tackle bags this week

Academy has been training with senior so there will have been crossover. There hasn't been any training this week, so we'll see if there's more cases to come.

Bugger.

The most egregious selection here is Heinz over Spencer. Unless the latter's injured there is no good reason for it.

Whats happened to McConnochie?

Good question, he's certainly been playing better than Furbank.

I don't know enough about Crossdale to really say much, but I doubt he's played better than McConnochie. If plumping for a young, promising talent, Eddie would have done better to pick someone like Hassel-Collins from Irish who's joint third try scorer (with McConnochie and Jack Willis) in the league this season. I know tries scored aren't everything, but that's pretty bloody impressive in one of the poorer league performers.

Youngs
Heinz
Francis
Furbank

Simply shouldn't be anywhere near an England squad. Not even close.

Yep, have to agree.
Are there caps awarded for this match? If so Youngs can get to 100 and then fuck right off never to return

Alas, no. Callum Sheedy and Johnny Williams wouldn't be about to turn out for Wales if we capped these Baabaas games. Think we might regret letting go of the latter.

I'd like to see completely different scrum halves but from that squad

Genge
George
Stuart
Itoje
Ewels
Curry
Underhill
Dombrandt
Youngs
Ford
May
Farrell
Marchant
Thorley
Watson

Obano, Dunn, Heyes, Ribbans, Hill, Mitchell, Lawrence, Furbank/Crossdale

Better to see how Dombrandt, Marchant and Thorley do as part of a good team structure rather than a scratch side.

Not much to disagree with there. I'd find a place for Wilson, though. Maybe insteadof Underhill. The former hasn't played since the restart iirc and so could probably use the run out whereas Underhill was the only back rower involved with the playoffs and is possibly the most injury prone of the young guns, so there's no real gain to using him up on a Baabaas game.

Possibly swap Dunn and George around too. Means Dunn starts with his club tighthead and George can come on to steady the ship if the setpiece isn't going as planned. Maybe even Obano for Genge so we start with a whole club unit in the front row.
