Great to have your cheery disposition back
Joke, to avoid misunderstanding!
Great to have your cheery disposition back
Hadn’t realised I was that morose
I hope my prediction doesn't turn out to be incorrect but thanks for him :)OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 3:58 am Congrats to Duhan van der Merwe making his debut for Scotland. William MacNeil What a great fatty he is. Worldly player at the 'burgh, really hope he has what it takes at int'l level, I'm going to put my neck out on the line and say he'll be a great international. And it's McMerwe now; Following in the great footsteps of William MacNeil at prop!
Hell of a scrumager and at precisely the time we needed a player of his skillset.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:41 amWilliam MacNeil What a great fatty he is. It's interesting how well South Africans seem to settle in Scotland. It can't be for the weather obviously, but even away from rugby South Africans seem to settle very quickly and are happy to set up home.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:41 amWilliam MacNeil What a great fatty he is. Won't work. We're barely filling the squad because of covid. You'll have to make arguments based on beating Georgia B. And most of them haven't played a proper game since March. I'm shocked that we're going to the november tournament at all.KingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 11:13 am That's a very strong team. A very big front row, a very dynamic back row, a very exciting running back three. I'm looking forward to this.
We really should expect to thrash Georgia and we should seek to put down a serious marker we can all point to when the inevitable relegation from the 6N chat makes its annual resurgence.
I presume your 'we' is Georgia? I think you are seriously overestimating the knowledge of the kind of fan who raises the point. If most of them can name a single rugby player beyond Jonny Wilkinson I'd be generally surprised. They would't know a Georgia B team from Adam.FullbackAce wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 10:57 amWon't work. ...and babas player breaks COVID protocols. I was wrong that they didn’t have the protocols in the first place, but I’m unsurprised that this has happened in a heavy drinking ‘no rules’ culture. There must be doubts as to whether Maitland can join Scotland for the next few weeks now.KingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 7:23 pm Presumably Scotland aren’t going to be releasing players back into the pro squads for the weekend’s games as they would have to isolate each time they transition between pro team / Scotland squad?
On that note, I’d be very careful integrating Maitland back in were I them. A representative squad from all over the place spending the week getting hammered together before the babas match, no doubt with no limitations placed on the players by management as that is the culture. A disaster waiting to happen that is.

Is this not the second time Maitland has broken lockdown rules? Seem to recall a bunch of Saracens players doing something stupid earlier in the summer. I really like him as a player, but worried about his judgement off the pitch, and you have to think Townsend would be under some pressure to drop him pour encourager les autres.Slick wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 1:12 pmThis has really pissed me off actually. Was just tweeting about this. Maitland wasn’t representing Scotland or the SRU, so Toony won’t feel obliged to take public action in the same way, but I expect he will be pretty pissed off all the same. Doubt we’ll see Maitland start any games this autumn.S/Lt_Phillips wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:11 pmIs this not the second time Maitland has broken lockdown rules? I think he is going to be a monster for us, just as he is for Edinburgh.
To be fair i think the whole inside 3 have been poor. Who thinks Lang is international quality except Townsend.
