I didn’t watch but it sounds like more of the same. I’m no longer disappointed by the performance levels, just resigned to it happening. Who knows, they might click vs Auckland or Tasman; we can only hope.

Lee Allan has done a great job as defence coach, especially given he's only 29.
Some of you might remember him as a promising young flanker out of South Otago when he was in his early 20s. He played quite a bit for Otago and had a couple of games for the Clan but had to pull the plug on his playing career after concussion issues. It would be great if he went on to have a successful coaching career. Donnelly is also doing a great job in his first year as head coach.
I should have a bit more faith in this Otago side. With 15 to go I was thinking I've seen this movie before and it didn't end well. Neither side seemed to be able to hang onto the pill in the last five.

Thorn out. Set piece has gone to shit, and then he decides to play Prinsep at lock for 25 minutes? Attack looks clueless. Really, aside from Drummond, they looked clueless out there.
Relegation seems all but certain with Auckland and Tasman to come. Only hope really is Harbour or BOP shitting the bed too.

Actually, the hosts led for the first 65 minutes. The winning score than came 9 minutes earlier than in the men's match between these two provinces a couple of weeks ago.

Great stuff Counties, showed great heart to close that one out away from home.
Read was very influential, winning a couple of key turnovers. Smiling 'til the end as always. Great bloke.

Yep, and the likes of Read, Messam and Thomson have so much to offer their young provincial teammates.Jimmy Smallsteps wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:42 am Great stuff Counties, showed great heart to close that one out away from home.

I'd love to see Thomson play a final season for his native Mid Canterbury, but that might be a longshot.Gumboot wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:54 amYep, and the likes of Read, Messam and Thomson have so much to offer their young provincial teammates.Jimmy Smallsteps wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:42 am Great stuff Counties, showed great heart to close that one out away from home.

Canterbury team to be relegated tomorrow:
Tight five probably as good as could be expected, though 16-19 is as weak as I've ever seen so expect a marked drop off later in the game. We continue to not select our two best loose forwards in Douglas and Sanders, instead opting to shoehorn journeyman Billy Harmon in a flawed dual-openside strategy. Backs are probably as good as can be expected, albeit with Punivai out of position.
The icing on the cake is Brett Cameron's return. Almost poetic. The worst ever All Black returns to lead Canterbury into the brave new world of the second division.
If this team is going to do anything tomorrow, it will come down to Romano, Drummond, and McKay.
Unfortunately, I can see the likes of Havili, Faiinganuku, Makalio, Strange, and Tu'ungafaasi taking great pleasure in resigning many of their Crusaders team mates to relegation.

I'm absolutely furious that he is leaving Burke, Douglas and Sanders out of the team.mrbrownstone wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 6:14 am

Burke is unavailable, Sanders has been injured for most of the competition, and Douglas has been gash.Kiwias wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 6:34 amI'm absolutely furious that he is leaving Burke, Douglas and Sanders out of the team.mrbrownstone wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 6:14 am
