Outstanding play from Southland. Otago wilted under pressure.

Might get them into the playoffs?

Will depend on other results methinks but after this year they are looking a lot better and if don't make it into the playoffs then they will hopefully build on this year.

Yep, if they build well on this year's foundation they'll be in great shape going into next year.

As much as you don't like being beaten by little brother - credit where it's due.

There is some real talent and heart in that squad.

Nice one Stags. Working two days in QT and got back late so missed it.

Any season with a win over Otago is a good season, but they’ve really played well at times this season and could have easily had another 3 wins such was the closeness of games. Province has some pride back in the team after some dire seasons, hopefully they keep improving.

$15 for 13+ against Otago!

Looking at the table the win last night has given Southland a good chance of making the semi finals, the only team below them capable of catching them are Counties who have to play North Harbour and then Southland. I'd expect North Harbour to beat Counties taking them out of contention before the final game, needless to say though Southland have to beat Counties to be in with a chance.

The two teams above them are Taranaki (1 point ahead) & Northland (2 points ahead). Taranaki play Manawatu on Sunday so I'd expect a Taranaki bonus point win putting them out of range of Southland. Northland however are a different kettle of fish and have Auckland then Waikato as their last games which they could potentially lose however if they lose both and get two bonus points from each then they'll be safe however drop a bonus point or two and Southland beat Counties with a bonus point could see them leap frog Northland.

Auckland vs Northland 27mins in and Taniwha lead 3 - 0. Auckland creating heaps of chances but sloppy final passes hurting them

Auckland have lost two front rowers and we have golden oldie scrums, with Auckland have to play with 14 men. I am not sure of the laws governing this.

Josh MAcKay just scored a stunning individual try from a poor clearing kick and they hit the sheds for halftime with the good guys leading 17 - 0 over Tasman.

The team is finally playing as if they really want to be out there.

David Havili is superb under the high ball but they keep kicking it to him.

He is looking decent.

Romano’s lineout domination is continuing. He is carving up.

If people thought the $15 for Southland 13+ was good on Friday Canterbury were $26 for 13+ when I looked pre match. Did not expect that, this mitre 10 cup is harder to pick than a broken nose.
