Place won't last otherwise. Any ideas.

Those who are on other sports forums and such could promote it?

Incentivisation is the key, I spoke to Gwyneth and she said I could do what she does and offer every 50th member one of these.

With her admission of having a growler like Tina Turner in a half Nelson I'd suggest this...

469 registered members in a week, I think it would be better to retain what we have than get new ones who we have to train in the ways of the bored.

Yep, this is an established social club, warts and all. Those 469 members are, mostly, old contributors from PR and newbies who fortunately decided to start posting after (presumably) lurking for a considerable period of time. I assume all of them know the lay of the land by now and that number certainly enough to keep the bored ticking over.

I agree, and it would be reasonable to assume that more people from PR will join us when the old bored finally goes or fundamentally changes it’s modus operandi.

Have you devised the algorithm to eliminate anon multis from that number?

In my opinion, this bored is already a big improvement on the pr one, in both content and function.

I'd recommend some measures to get it search engine optimised. I tried to find it on my phone and no combination of "forum", "rugby", "planet", "not" would get a hit. In the end I had to type it in the address bar like it was the 90s.
Don't worry. I've been drinking.

Mustve joined a zillion of these boards and they always pan out the same:

The 80/20 scenario. 80% of posts are made by 20% of members. (500 or so members here so over the hump I guess)

The 2/5 scenario. 2 of the top 5 most prolific posters will hate each other. Unfortunate but necessary as this drives the conflict turbines. And if those conflict turbines seize up, your board is becalmed and dead in the water.

PR haven't attracted too many new members anyway. However as there would be new moderation rules more PR members would migrate.

This

Because I delete my phone regularly in case someone not me picks up my phone and wants to search my browser history, I have to try and find this site. PR or f365 forums pop up unless you hate type in www.notplanetrugby.com/bored

Where it's such a new site it'll take a little while to start being picked up seriously by search engines.

Could do with putting rugby forum in the title of each pages, and headers (far less important).

I’m still genuinely interested to know if the 8 or 9 guests in the forum at any given time are likely to be people or just bots?

For what it’s worth, it isn’t funny. But it did bamboozle me for a few days. I was confused as to why guests were being mentioned twice and why the number was different.

So the joke’s on me.

Yes. I thought there might be some PR lurkers.

Absolutely nothing happening in Irish rugby at the minute. Irish political area is a dull coalition after 2 years of fear of the apocalypse. Brexit in a lull phase

Give it a few weeks
Munster v Leinster in the aviva will bring enough posts on their own. Especially if it’s a red victory

One of them is probably Peter O'Mahony, but he gets a pass because he's earned his browser spurs. He's elite.

Probably people like me who rarely post and couldn't be bothered to log in if only reading / lurking.
