A friend whose been proven correct before and again this time - although I wasn't expecting Jack Aitken to get the nod. I didn't think he had a superlicense

yeah; & because it's such a short lap, you'll continually have to be overtaking, & a second extra on a pit stop could be a bunch of places, & everyone will have DRS, because they're almost guaranteed to be within a second of someone; just merging back into traffic from the pitlane will be a pain.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:07 pmPit for tyres in the lead and you’ll come out 16thfishfoodie wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:04 pmThat's a bit ridiculous; if you have to change a front wing, you could end up lapped by the field.

I reckon George could save Mercedes 20-30 mill in the Lewis contract negotiations with continued good showing this week or next...

Nah, Hamilton is guaranteed to deliver. Russell's time will come but he's a long way from a better alternative.

Hamilton is a 7 time world champion with a huge international profile and instantly recognisable. The thought of binning him off after a good day for Russell...maybe not.Kawazaki wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 11:51 pmInsane_Homer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:11 pm I reckon George could save Mercedes 20-30 mill in the Lewis contract negotiations with continued good showing this week or next...

They estimated billions in value annually for Mercedes F1 to Daimler. Hamilton’s part of that particularly amongst non traditional Merc customers worth a damm sight more than 30 mill.

He’s huge commercially for Merc. They could double his wages and still be a good deal for them.Bimbowomxn wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 10:37 amScarfaceClaw wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 10:02 amHamilton is a 7 time world champion with a huge international profile and instantly recognisable. Although I suspect Russell probably pays more in tax to the UK already than Hamilton.

It’s an interesting dilemma for the youngsters and where they move to as wages rise. The other reason as avoidance of high rates is what is owed around the globe as they travel and Monaco makes that very simple.

The F2 race showed the possibilities...... no-one's really sure how many pitstops will be needed but I'd be surprised of it's not at least a 2 stopper. And traffic management will play a big part
