As a player, Vermeulen has been physical and fearsome as a ball-carrier and on defence, while remaining typically influential at the breakdown. As a leader, he has also embraced the captaincy, and just this past Saturday was credited for the manner in which he inspired his teammates when the pressure came on in the second half of the first Currie Cup semi-final.

‘He was actually operating on another level,’ White commented. ‘And that’s what you want, you want your best players to perform in these crunch games, you want them delivering their best and Duane was one of them,’ he added.
Even if he is in the opposition team you have to love this guy.....
Nothing but respect for DV. I expect nothing less than a MOTM performance from him on Saturday.
How do you feel about Kolisi joining the Sharks...

I really don't see the need tbh

In all seriousness, it would be a major signing for the Sharks and I'd welcome him. But I still think he'd have to up his game, as he was MIA on Saturday.

If the Bulls win, they will move to 24 titles, 10 behind Western Province.

If the saarks win, they will move to 9 titles, 25 behind Western Province.

Good luck to both teams.

DUDE...just tell me what I can say to you to make you feel better about WP....

You are starting to sound creepy with your need to try make WP seem like this incredible team.

I want desperately to leave you alone .... but I am not heartless...I do not really understand your pain....but I can show empathy..

Well then, enjoy the week, stop posting about WP and Kolisi. Engage fellow saarks and Bulls posters and discuss what you need to do to achieve 34 titles. Then and only then will you be ranked among the greats of the game in SA.

Putting cock on block, I will say that for this game I think the Bulls will take it. White is too savvy and you just know he will have new tricks up his sleeve. One thing is certain and that is that they will put immense pressure on glasjaw Bosch, let's see if he copes...

Now that Western Province's Currie Cup is over it means that Saturday's was the last competitive game to be played at Newlands. Western Province's continuous stadium since 1888, that's 133 years. Second oldest in the world. And all thrown away through greed and mismanagement. Generations of memories and tradition. "Otto se Hoek"; "The Railway Stand", the "Danie Craven Pavilion". Beating Australia in the opening game of World Cup '95, sitting behind the signboards as a schoolboy. This stadium should have been a national monument! Now it's going to be demolished for another ubiquitous shopping/office block. All now come to an end. The real end of an era. But to all true WP and Stormers fans there will always only be one home ground, een land, en dis NUWELAND

Ah sards. Little padawan, let me teach you something, son. 1 door closes, another one opens. We now move to Cape Town Stadium, host of SA leg of Sevens (I've been twice), Roger Federer vs Rafa Nadal (yes, I was there), FIFA World Cup Soccer (saw England vs Algeria) and many more. The memories we will make there will surpass what we did at Newlands.

Notsche vs Vermeulen

Skill and elusive running vs brute force

Brawn vs brain

Tough one

Van Staden vs Richardson.

Van Staden is pure skill...Richardson is a smart player.

Richardson got so far up Vermeulens nose he is lucky noone got Covid...Vermeulen is going to be gunning for him...could work in the Sharks favor or someone could get hurt.

Once again...brawn vs brain

Wow...Sharks supporters are alive on social media...its almost like a RWC final. Can't remember it ever being so positive...

It really is building nicely...

WP supporters on the other hand are so bitter...

" if there is one thing we have learnt this year is that the Bulls biggest assets are the WP players they bought "

The team is in a good place and we absorbed plenty of pressure, we defended well. We will get confidence from beating the Sharks both times we have played them up here this season and there is an unbelievable vibe in our team. They’ve worked hard and they enjoy their time together. It’s an unbelievable group of players and special things are happening in this team.” White said after the semifinal.
White seems confident...so do the players apparently.

Ask WP supporters who gave us so much kak because of Covid protocols and saw their arse.

Tbh...at the beginning of last year I had given up any hope of the Bulls becoming the force they were. Since Jake and the billionaire club that saw the potential and believed they could mold something out of the Bulls, the Bulls have grown immeasurably in a year. That is phenomenal progress over a very short period. The closest has been the Sharks whose outstanding management and team environment kept the team on an upwards curve. These two teams are going to be the teams to watch when we progress North.
Wait for the marketing to start. These teams are building to be a force in world rugby. Let's be honest. You think South African rugby you think Sharks and Bulls. It's the marketing that sets them apart from the rest who are quite honestly very amateurish. I miss those golden days when Bobby and the Men in black were blasted over our TV screens. It creates excitement and anticipation and becomes a product you can sell.

So its quite fitting that our finest are on display this weekend
