Saffa Domestic Cricket
Belatedly starting a dedicated Fred, as the main cricket Fred is probably going to be swamped (and rightly so) with India/England.
Obviously there is a lot more interest in that game.
South Africa have started well this morning Nortje picks up Babar Azam and Fawad's show of comptempt for Bavuma's fielding doesn't end well.
I must say the PCB seems almost Australian in the partisanship of its coverage, with Cullinan as the token Mark Nicholas.

272 all out. Nortje kills the tail eventually, to finish with 5/56

Unusual that Rabada has been wicketless.Insane_Homer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:58 am 272 all out. Nortje kills the tail eventually, to finish with 5/56
I was a bit irritated to hear Rabada's catch described as "lucky" by Ramiz.
Rabada has been singularly luckless with edges missing leg stump and bouncing over the wickets and catches falling inches short.
Hasan gets Elgar. 26 for one turns into 26 for two as Hasan gets v.d.Dussen next ball.

24 off 11 balls so far

I remember a game against India at Newlands where Harbijan had us in all sorts of trouble; Kallis walked in and hit three reverse sweeps in the first couple of overs against him which completely fucked him up and we went on to draw a game we were sure to lose.
Ramiz was describing the muddy yellow haze over the setting sun as "quite beautiful" which arouses the suspicion that the PCB will not countenance commentary which does not show Pakistan in a favourable light.
The frequent cut aways to staged scenes of punters, commentators and players sipping in unison from little red paper cups with teabag tags dangling from them is perfectly vomit-inducing, too.

This has been the most embarrassing series I have seen in a long time. De Kock doesn't even look like he wants to be out there

There are apparently 5 soundtracks, but all appear to be the same.
How do you switch off?
Listening to the commentary, one wonders if it is possible for any International cricket side to face this world-beating Pakistani attack.
Apparently the Pakistani umpires have been outstanding, too, despite that last lbw decision shown as pitching on off and striking the pad outside of leg. South Africa have used up 3 reviews and all three have overturned the umpires' decision to favour the home side.

None of our players look like they want to be there
Embarrassment to South Africa's great cricketing history. Worst team I have seen since we were readmitted

Another run out
I am on the brink of just not following cricket any longer, this team makes it an absolute ball ache

all out
Absolutely no desire from this team apart from poor Nortje who must wish he could have taken a Kolpak
SA cricket is dead, gone forever

This one is over. 300+ looks way beyond SA.
Yes.
I was quite hopeful that we'd be facing under 250 (which would probably be beyond us anyway).

Good effort Rizwan. Very un-Pakistani in grinding this one out when it mattered.

Bugger. Was wondering one of those statto oddities: when was the last time (if ever) a maiden century and a maiden 50 were made in the same partnership? Mocker gods.

Great bowling from Linde.
