The discipline is so bad.

We could have the bastard son of Wilkinson and Carter at 10 and it wouldn't have changed this start.

Aren’t you in N Wales where we’re not bothered?
You say that, but the evidence doesn’t bear it out. I’ve been here for 12 years, and Wales playing rugby is the only thing that reliably clears our ED. While the game is on anyway!

Good response, we're not going to fail 5 metres out in this game.

Think we’re going to need 40+ to win this.

As bad as their defence is, our attacking has been good to watch.

We really need a 10 to control it though, all a bit headless.

It would be better if they could just sharpen up the passing which is pretty bloody laboured at times.

I don't think it has been that headless.it has been pretty open, but considering Italy have missed 4million tackles it will look a bit more headless than it has been because there will be bodies everywhere.

Yeah that Johnson pass to Graham being a prime example.

Yes, never really noticed that before. Still, he is playing beautifully apart from that

Maybe I don’t mean headless, perhaps less accurate than it could be? I think with Finn or Hastings it would be getting mixed up a bit more. Not a criticism of Hogg for avoidance of doubt

Watson is immense. It will be a disgrace if he is not a Lion. One of the most consistently good back rowers of the tournament.

There is definitely a lack of accuracy. The two centres have thrown a few wobbly ones.

Get to half time and take a breath I think. It was always going to be a little breathless.

I don't understand the application of advantage anymore. The ref is pulling offences back 30-40m sometimes.

Think I’d be looking at getting Jaco on for the 2nd half. Not because anyone has played badly, just to bring a bit more structure and a kicker

And then goes and scores a try. Go Cherry.

Ah he's off that's the hat-rick opportunity gone.

Some nice wee snipes from Steele. Something I don't think Price ever does.
So I squares up, casual like.

He sometimes takes a step or two before passing but has played well. An upgrade in my opinion

That's a red. The fact Hogg sticks his elbow out shouldn't be mitigation. The ball is long gone.

Could we have Finn, Johnson, Jones next week?

Tasty scoreline considering we started our FB at fly half, had our second choice second row, third and fourth choice hookers and centres that haven't started for a while.

TBH, only a win of this size was going to be acceptable after the way the last two games have gone, and they’ve done the business after a shaky start. So well done. I’m still at work and won’t get to watch until later, so did we learn anything new, apart from that Italy are poor and Hogg isn’t a 10?

Hopefully Barclay gives Guscott what he deserves when BBC goes off air - what the fuck is Guscott doing at Scotland matches?

Hoggy is one of the best fullbacks in the game, he should stay there.

I called for him to start this game at ten, but I’m not sure we wouldn’t have done as well if not better with vdW starting

Hard to be anything but pleased with that, an excellent performance and all players get strong pass marks. Special mentions for Watson (as always), Jones, Duhan, both Fagersons and Cherry.

I thought Richie turned up with some excellent carries on the wings, he’s actually pretty fast when he gets going. Gilchrist was also good, he made good ground in the tight carries.

I felt there was a little over exuberance in attack at times where structure would have won out, but that’s knit picking.
