Sam Cane out for 6 months.

ABs need a new captain then.

Damn shame, he was easily the ABs' best player last year.

I guess either Ardie or Whitelock will be an adequate replacement skipper for a short while, though.

Would say penalty success but the total numbers are too low to be statistically significant.
Homer refs STILL not penalising Kiwi teams.

He did play well last year. But just not an AB skipper

Funny, but that's exactly how I feel about Whitelock . Fantastic player but too many brainfarts - NZs version of Dylan Hartley

Yep, he's one of our finest ever locks, but not really captaincy material. There's just no getting past his costly discipline issues.

I meant not an AB skipper because his teams lose - a lot.

Get well soon, Sam Cane.

Sam Whitelock should have been captain from the outset. Kudos to Enz for his belated April Fools bit comparing Whitelock to Dylan Hartley. Hilarious.

🤣.

Wow - what a fantastic first half. Both teams going hard at it.

Can't believe the Landers can keep that up but would love to be surprised.

That’s better, with the last try. Was worried they wouldn’t strike back there with that momentum. A few errors didn’t help.

Liverugby.net has an rugby pass app finally.

Gutsy first half from the Highlanders. I hope they can hang on long enough to make for an exciting finish.

The Clan made hardly no errors at all.

Missed large parts of it, but seems we were just blown off the park.

When was the last home loss?

Fantastic effort by the Highlanders. They were clearly the better team on the night. What a luxury to have Fakatava and Smith sharing halfback. And then Mitch Hunt owning Mo'unga - didn't see that coming! Havili is in outstanding form, but that was the worst game I've ever seen Will Jordan play.

It’s crazy to have 2 world class half backs in one club.

And arguably the one at the top of the world by many’s regard, being outplayed by the new kid.

I'll happily argue that they're currently New Zealand's best two halfbacks. Fakatava's made for test rugby.

Wow! Just browsing the web after a busy day and saw the Crusaders-Highlanders score. Had to get onto utoob to see it.
2 things. If you watched the game live was it as much a demolition as the scoreline says?

Must admit I've always rated Havili as an excellent fullback but just an average second five, but his last few games at 12 have completely changed my mind. Even last night in a losing team, he was terrific.

IIRC, he played at second five 2~3 years ago and was distinctly average, but he looks made for the position now.

Yep, I reckon he's close to the form midfielder in the country at the moment.

This is a great arm-wrestle. Defences are good and only top class moves are creating the break.

35 minutes and Chiefs lead 7 to 5.

Tupou Vaa'i showing some great moves
