Most enjoyable Glasgow game in ages. Playing the brand that made them big as well.
Me likes it.
Now back it up.

Thumping the side that beat Munster last week is no mean feat.
It was the style in which it was done, though, a very good performance.

Not sure about the Horne and Jordan pairing at half back.
I'd give Jordan a second chance over Horne. Horne has been below par for a while, which makes it harder for an inexperienced 10 coming in.
Hit that on the head.

Sounds like an excellent run out.
BBC says Darge's injury was 'gruesome' - any news on that? Guessing he'll be out for a while, which would be a great shame.

Broken ankle, unknown if soft tissue damage as well.

Great all round performance from Glasgow last night. Tuipulotu had his best game yet and wasn't where the ball went to die, Jordan look very good, lucky with the card though, even Gray seemed to have some beast about him. I think (hope) this squad have even more potential than was shown last night. Real shame about Darge's injury though.

Jordan could be really fun to watch develop, I loved his attitude last night, tried lots but just brushed himself down if it didn’t quite work and got on with it. Hopefully he can just come on at his own pace for a couple of years

Well, Jaco is a better goal kicker, but we lose so much in attack with BK out.

In combination with Pyrgos as well, we may be quite steady going forward.

Dislocated ankle according to the news today. Which explains the ‘gruesome’ - they look pretty grim if you’re not used to the sight, but it’s better than the open fracture I was worried about. Apparently he will have surgery soon - there’s usually associated fracture(s) that need to be stabilised. At a rough guess I’d say 6 months out, but that’s a total stab in the dark.

I drop in on the forums of English clubs with Scottish players from time to time.
McCallum is getting a lot of praise at Worcester, and he is back at tighthead. These two things may be related.
Bristol fans are describing Bradbury as a good signing, and 'just what we needed'.

Just finished watching the Edinburgh game, what a shame.
Not much reflecting on it really, Bennett is superb, Darcy ridiculous, Ritchie looked out on his feet from about 30 minutes in but kept going. Pyrgos was a bit poor really.
Not a bad result in the scheme of things I guess but to get so close…

Edinburgh are in dire need of tightheads, McCallum should come home.
I was led to believe he wasn't the most enthusiastic of trainers when he was with us.
Bradbury can set his stall out, and I sincerely wish him well, but if Dempsey makes the move, I can only see him being first choice for us as things stand.

Watching Exeter game and Jonny Gray is having his best game for a long time. There is hardly any no collecting the ball and going straight down to the ground like he used to previously

The interview this morning with the MND "dream team" as Rob Burrow put it was quite an emotional watch. It must be so difficult for Ed Slater seeing how Doddie and Rob have deteriorated over the last 2 years. They are all doing great work and Sinfield is a lunatic in the best possible way. Seven ultra marathons in seven days is a massive task and I am sure he will make millions for a very good cause.

Mike Blair said a couple of weeks ago that he'd be looking at bringing them home.
If Suzza is off to Bath then that is good, we could do with McCallum at Edinburgh tbh, he seems to have improved and Duhan won't be short of offers, he'd be welcome back at Edinburgh, but he was made a decent off to stay and left, so I can't see him coming back.

I think the SRU need to make the offer, if they go elsewhere then great for them but we need all 3 playing, kept fit etc in effectively a world cup year.
Duhan got offered stupid money for a winger. He was allegedly offered 300k a season which is way more than the SRU pay most players never mind back 3.
MMc would be a welcome addition to the squad as you say.

Rumour from The Rugby Paper a couple of weeks back but sounds like several T14 clubs have made enquiries about him moving to France. Probably only French clubs could afford him?

Duhan Bofelli Graham with Goosen, Hoyland, Immelman backing up. Kinghorn at 10 and Bennett in this form at 13. It's almost too exciting

Could be due to the HIA protocols for Crosbie and Jaco.

Clashed heads with Schoeman and had 10 minutes off during the first half, and then Blair said after the game that he and Jaco were both subject to HIA protocols.

Will be interesting to see what he decides to do. He wasn't treated particularly well in France before which might put him off, or money talks.

McCallum is quoted as saying he may come back to train with Edinburgh. It makes sense from a personal point of view. His Dad died last year, and he has a new born so he'll be close to his Mum, which would be good for them all. And professionally, it lets both parties have a look at each other.

He is a good guy with tons of potential but perhaps lost his way a little? I remember him having to get a taxi from Goldenacre where he was playing to sit on the bench for Embra when he was a callow youth. Speaking to people who know him he is well liked and seems a great guy. However he is now coming into the prime of his playing career and needs to kick on, he has the physique and the talent to become a Scotland regular and perhaps becoming a dad might help him refocus. I hope it works out for him.

They’ve been wrong before but they also definitely have contacts in the Edinburgh camp so there may be something to this.
On McCallum, I read somewhere he has been playing tighthead again and looking good. The Edinburgh depth at tighthead isn’t bad (Nel, De Bruin, Atalifo, Williams, Gamble) with lots of bodies, but I wouldn’t say any of those beyond the first two are notable. Given only 2 are SQ (as far as I know), adding in McCallum might be worthwhile. If nothing else it gives us a further opportunity to wrap Nel in cottonwool, bubble wrap, blankets and anything else soft we can find pre-WC.

I guess circumstances are dictating this but I am genuinely pretty satisfied with the options we already have in both of those positions.
If the SRU have that kind of cash kicking around, Glasgow would be much more improved by picking those two up.

For me, Nel is excellent but aging. De Bruin is very good but not (and never will be) SQ. Atalifo is okay, Williams is a backup at best and Gamble has huge promise but hasn't made any real breakthrough yet. If a resurgent McCallum could slot in at third choice, possibly fourth tighthead it would be overall good for both Edinburgh and Scotland.
