DAM Health Stadium has been confirmed as the match venue for tomorrow's Heineken Champions Cup clash against Castres Olympique.
Following extensive work from Scottish Rugby ground staff throughout the week the pitch remains playable with European rugby returning to the capital tomorrow afternoon!

Glasgow should be about 5 tries to the good here but they have their now usual lack of composure in in the final phase.
I’m interested to see Tuipolotu’s numbers from tonight, he seems to be carrying every phase and making good meters every time. Turner carrying well too but his darts are shite.

A win is a win but bloody hell they made hard work of that, they should have won that at a canter. Playing like a bunch of highly talented individuals rather than a team.

Considering the lows of the last few years under Wilson, the turnaround is encouraging. ( In Franco we Trust )
Good Home form, and now winning on the road.
You can see how Franco is building a squad, rather than just a first team
Look who didn’t play tonight – Kebble ,Fraser ,Fagerson, Cummings, Darge, Gordon, Wilson, Thomson, Johnson, Mcdowall, Steyn ,Forbes Smith.- and that’s also not including Mann & Neild who were so good at Bath last week.
Perfect – far from it – yes there were errors, but the good (and there was lots of it ) outweighed the bad.
Agree that Sione T was so influential tonight , and Sione V has some engine on him
Here’s to ripping Edinburgh a new arsehole next Friday

Lol, maybe you’re easy to please. There are definitely huge improvements since last year but the team still looks disjointed and confused at times. This is a club packed full of internationals, it’s okay to have a certain level of expectation.

McInally was a head injury, not sure about VDM and Kinghorn was his leg, didn't quite see what happened.
Getting a bit sick of constantly trying to rip the ball rather than making dominant tackles.

thought I seen him limp a bit but I was fast forwarding bits of the first half to catch up.

Good win that. Left a couple of tries out there and there's plenty to work on defensively (first I tackling has had some issues recently) but a lot of good play and and win over last year's second place team in the Top14 is a great result regardless of anything else.

I was genuinely laughing when their prop slapped the ball out of Vellacott's hands about 90 seconds after being told the next penalty would result in a card.

And the card they did get was for the penalty try. Despite 22 other penalties they didn’t get a card for repeated infringements.

Just back. Edinburgh were pretty dominant throughout even without VDM, McInally and Kinghorn, should have won by more though.
One thing did make wonder, there was a pretty stiff breeze with bright sunshine to the right corner Castre were defending in the second half, I don't think I single high ball was played into their 22 which would have been a nightmare to try to take.

Still catching up on the Edina Castres match, Edinburgh are the better side by a mile, just not on the scoreboard yet.
I have to ask, has Scott Hastings been to an Edinburgh game in the last ten years?
The chant of "Eh Din Bruagh" has gone up a couple of times in this match and he's attributed it twice to Castres fans.
He getting paid to comment on these games, he should know his stuff.

That was at least after he worked out it was Castres playing and not Brive.

Commentating is a skill in itself, and is harder than it looks. But what I fail to understand is that there is a cadre of commentators who are generally quite poor, but who get constantly used. The same applies to the 'expert' co-commentators. Meanwhile there are young retired players who are eloquent, know the players and the modern game who would love to get involved and can't.
I have been involved in rugby for nearly 60 years and think I have a decent understanding of the game, I don't. Watching games with my son and his chums who are good level current players and know many of the players on the pitch, I realise just how much the game has moved on, and how much is happening on the pitch that I am just not seeing.

Yeah. The Hastings Nicol pairing was particularly grim.

Yeah, I think he's really coming along nicely. Only 22,with a bit of luck hell keep developing.

Agreed. Savala is going to be very useful going forward. He plays a bit like Kinghorn close tot he gain line and likes to make wee off-loads etc. His kicking is a work in progress but that is a teachable skill and he will get better. I can understand why Edinburgh decided to develop him rather than Chamberlain who was more of a sit deep and kick 10. Savala is more suited to the type of game Edinburgh want to play.

He has just been on BT Sport after the Quims game and said nothing has been agreed yet but his future will be sorted before Xmas

A successful weekend for a change. Pretty obvious areas where both teams have room to improve and work on. Both squads improving depth and a lot of youngsters coming in and proving they can hack it at pro level.
Got to watch a live match for the first time in a couple of years and update both our Scotland hats and scarves the wind was blowing straight at us so the shop got a visit at half time.
Wish it wasn't an all day saga to get to the grounds. Evening kick-offs are a no go, left the house at 9am got home just after 6pm (chippy in Biggar) getting to Murrayfield is simple enough, car to Ingliston then tram, not tried Scotstoun yet.

For many that is a career best highlights reel not a just a season! How many men beaten, yards made, tries scored, side steps made, defenders left on their arses, tackles made, steals made, etc. He really is a special player and one of the top wingers in the world at the moment. Not just fast with a side step but has a real natural rugby brain and sheer guts for a man his size.
