Finn has signed for Bath
Given Bath's track records with international-calibre signings, expect him to tear a hamstring, pop a knee or lose a leg within the first week.
Apologies in advance.
Are they going to put in a 4G pitch when they do all the work on the stadium?
I've lost track of where they've got to with the redevelopment - mainly as there're been a whole summer's worth of false dawns already and it's dragged on for a decade or more - but sorting the pitch definitely needs to be part of the plan. It's the flood plain for the Avon and it's clay soil, even if Bath isn't particularly wet the pitch just turns into a bog.
In saying that, they may struggle to do anything revolutionary if they have to return it to open public use over summer. This has always been the stumbling block for every proposal so you'd think they'd have some strategy to get round it.

Good for him getting big pay deal at end of career and with a new baby to support. However I hope Bath sign a new SH or two otherwise he is in for a very frustrating time.
OVER 1500 UKRAINIAN REFUGEES TO ATTEND 1872 CUP DECIDER[
Edinburgh Rugby will welcome over 1500 Ukrainian refugees to this month’s 150th anniversary 1872 Cup decider at BT Murrayfield (Friday 30 December, kick-off 7.35pm) as part of working partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council and Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council.
The tickets for the unmissable derby decider were offered to Ukrainians refugees based in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, with displaced families currently living on cruise ships MS Victoria and MS Ambition, docked in Leith and on the Clyde.
The ticket donation to world rugby’s oldest intercity derby follows on from May’s outreach which saw Edinburgh invite a number of Afghan refugees to BT Murrayfield as Edinburgh claimed the 1872 Cup against Glasgow Warriors, winning 28-11 in front of nearly 25,000 spectators.
I know we are trying to discourage immigration, but surely this is what the Americans call 'cruel and unusual punishment'?

I'm not sure Bath will do colossally better than Ben Spencer, who has actually been a rare highlight in a pretty mediocre few years.
It will be interesting to see how Russell can get the centres into the game, Redpath and Lawrence have looked good but JJ has been off the boil for a while.

Hamish Watson is a major doubt for the 2023 Six Nations as he continues to be stood down from rugby action due to a series of head knocks.
The Scotland flanker has been down to Birmingham this week to see a specialist about the concussion he sustained against New Zealand
“He has seen the specialist down in Birmingham and we are waiting to see the scan results,” said Mike Blair, the Edinburgh coach.
“Everything else has come through as fine but because he has had a number [of head knocks] in a short time he has to have an enforced break.
“We’re not 100 per cent sure when he will be back but he is feeling really good and he’s doing a lot of running and weights.”
Hopefully he gets healthy and all is OK with his head. I'm not sure he should be ahead of Crosbie for the 6N though.

Thats not a bad side considering injuries although it would have been mire reassuring if the likes if Boyle and Scott had a bit more game time. Hard for them to get in when their position is occupied by the incumbents though.

It's good Boyle is getting a game considering Crosbie has been the best player in Scotland the last few weeks. Is he getting Scotland rest periods now Watson and Darge are missing the six nations.

Thats an interesting question, I don't know how it works. That's also good for Boyle of he is/will be.
Emiliano Boffelli won a Copa de something this week in Argentina, it’s an award for the outstanding performance from an Argentinian in a particular sport over the course of the year, there are about 50 sports represented and Boff deserved his rugby one, for sure.
I could hazard a guess at who won the round ball gong, and he probably overshadowed his peers from the other sports in doing so.

Good point re Crosbie and rest periods. He was in the AI squad so he may be subject to the protocol anyway, but with the other injuries and Crosbie's form, it's about the only thing that makes sense regarding his omission from tomorrow's game.
Grant Gilchrist playing the lifter at the lineout for the millionth time. If I made the same mistake a million times at work I'd get fired. He should be dropped until he learns.
Good win for Glasgow in the end. Need to do more in attack, I'm not sold on Jordan at 10 or McDowell at 12. Physicality all day - you can tell they've got a saffa in charge. Great defence too. I had thought Murchie was a bit jobs for the boys but obviously not.

Was the game as bad as the papers are saying?
How did Murphy go?

It wasn't good quality but if was okay to watch.
Murphy ended up sun loosehead and didn't get on the pitch.

Considering the players both sides were missing, I thought it was an evenly matched, hard fought derby match between players who know each other very well. Enjoyable, nothing spectacular and Glasgow defence won it.

Crosby is carrying a niggle so has been given time off to recover.
Kinghorn's back is not responding as hoped and he is a concern for the next leg.
And on the Glasgow side, Tom Gordon's calf is not responding to treatment either.
Watson and Darge are out for the 6N so unless some of the other injuries heal, we are suddenly looking light at 7, though the likes of Ritchie can switch over effectively.
And I was told someone else is expected to be out till half way through the 6N. As I am old I am struggling to remember, but I am sure it was Graham.

Bloody hell. Dipped my toe into the English rugby thread and quickly got called a Cnut for having the temerity to voice an opinion contrary to JMK. Better stick to my own kind.
