When carded he just said, "Fair"
He knew all about it.
On a Quins related note ex Stoop player Glen Young has scored two for Edinburgh, running one in from half way. Edinburgh lead Brive 33-3 at HT

But at least they spelled his name right...NeilOJism wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 7:39 pmToday’s preview of Quims Castres has a pic of Tommy Allen, with the caption “Tommy Allen starts at fly-half for Saracens”...sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 4:36 pmTheir rugby coverage hasn't been great for a while, it's breadth and depth read like a couple of interns drew the short straw to do it.

Quins addiction to last gasp finishes is going to cost them one day, but it's not this one.

Yeah more than a few times he gave a penalty against Castres for the wrong reason - right outcome, mind. Like being penalised for good turnovers with the wrong justification, but only after they'd taken someone out off the ball or had the tackler backing into in the "channel" getting in the way, etc. The breakdowns were a mess, Castres were throwing everything at them. Loads of weird calls though.
That last gasp ending wouldn't have been needed if he had spotted the maul literally being tackled to the floor a metre from the line, mind

tbh, I think it's shit for wankers like Austin Healy to call out referees' decisions like that.
At the last ruck, the one Healy bleated on about, Adamson was on the other side unsighted and the referee is part of a team. If he misses it and the two ARs miss it, tough shite, move on.
Adamson wasn't the difference in the game, referees seldom, if ever, are the difference. Go through every single play and you'll find several reasons to award penalties to either side in every game, and it is stop start enough as it is.
This does not in any way dismiss the fact that homer refereeing exists, but over the course of a season the better teams win leagues and cups

Not the strongest Edinburgh team but also not much interest in tackling from Brive.Margin__Walker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:12 pmJesus. That's some score
Makes the 'draw' LI got with them for our cancelled home game the pre Christmas even more annoying.

Nah, fuck off with that. Castres left enough points out there to win the game.Yeah some late decisions might have been more in Quins favour, but not exclusively and Adamson was shite for both throughout the game. It all balances out.C69 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:45 pmAdamson was the difference tbh.Tichtheid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:15 pm tbh, I think it's shit for wankers like Austin Healy to call out referees' decisions like that.

Hell's teeth, we're becoming the New England Patriots. Tuck rule!
Edinburgh could have had another 30 if they’d kept their level of play up for 80 minutes.robmatic wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:17 pmNot the strongest Edinburgh team but also not much interest in tackling from Brive.Margin__Walker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:12 pmJesus. That's some score

Plus all the other points he left on the field. At least he was a good goalkicker when he was at Quins.

Yes. He was. Quins really lucky that he awarded the blocking try and for a Brace special in disallowing the legit turnover which would have ended the game. FWIW, I smelled upset on this one and went Quins < 5 and so can thank Adams' efforts for my get out of jail card.C69 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:45 pmAdamson was the difference tbh.Tichtheid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:15 pm tbh, I think it's shit for wankers like Austin Healy to call out referees' decisions like that.

{EDIT} Plus Marler's effort which would have seen red from most refs IMHO.

This should please Torq
Mike Adamson of Scotland is the only other referee to have two matches, officiating France v Scotland in Round 1 before also being on the whistle for England v Wales at Twickenham in Round 3.

What was the general view on how things ended for Botica in a Quins shirt?
I'm struggling to think of a more unprofessional and stupid thing that any other player has done that is worse than that. Robshaw not going for goal against Wales in the RWC15 and then calling it to himself at the front of the lineout perhaps?
We were good but Brive, jesus, why even board the plane.Biffer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 12:04 amEdinburgh could have had another 30 if they’d kept their level of play up for 80 minutes.robmatic wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:17 pmNot the strongest Edinburgh team but also not much interest in tackling from Brive.Margin__Walker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:12 pm

So the freeview CH4 game today is Bath v Leinster. Should be a close one, if Leinster went out on the lash last night that is.

You couldn't make it up. What's the point of watching that one? I doubt even Leinster any fans would clsincaim to be excited by the prospect of the most foregone conclusion since Mussolini said no surrender.
