Goosen can cover all those as well and he has experience. He's on fire at the moment, don't know why they have not yet pulled him in.

Very good question......I can only think that 5bar is preferred as he is there to cover those and is already in the system....

That is most likely the reason, plus Frans Steyn, who is still in the bok mix although way past it. I still think he could add great value, we certainly need a backup 10 for Pollard. We have to wait and see in which position he settles in at the bulls.

JLDP would have made a lot of sense on the bench for sure.....he took most of the lineout ball when the Bulls beat the Boks.

I think that certain posters are confusing the All Blacks under Graham Henry and Steve Hansen with Rassie and his Boks with regards to a no dickheads policy

The example of Dan shows that the dickhead thing is maybe not the reason. He was with the squad, and came down with Covid, hence didnt feature in the preparation matches, hence was released. Now he is called back in for TRC. Nothing to do with dickhead.
Goosens main problem might be that he didnt really settle in any position over the last couple of years in Montpellier. I have seen him play at 10, 12, 13, 15. We have utility backs in Frans Steyn and Willemse. He was playing good rugby, no question. Now that he is with the bulls, it will be interesting to see where he slots in. It helps that he is back in SA and I hope he will be back with the boks, he is class. Like with the du Preez twins, I just don't think anyone of them being a dickhead is the reason.

Why, he didnt feature in the Lions Series because he had Covid. Was released. Is now called back for TRC. Why should he tell Rassie to vokkof???
