Flatman is fine until it's tight in an England game
I wonder if they are coached that way?
John Barclay was painfully neutral but last week against Fiji he did a lot of the homer stuff too.

It must be in the broadcaster handbook somewhere that partisan comms is a good thing. Hence why we're subjected to Austin Healey when Tigers are on BT and Dallaglio for Wasps or Andy Nichol and Jiffy for 6N coverage of their respective teams.
My usual line is at least it doesn’t affect what happens on the pitch, sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 6:14 pmIt must be in the broadcaster handbook somewhere that partisan comms is a good thing. There was one game in the 6N a couple of years ago that Barclay looked like he was ready to lamp Guscott in the pundit's box, with Gabby holding the coats, that would have been worth sacrificing a broadcasting career for.

I remember that one. Getting rid of Gusset is one of the better recent Beeb decisions.
Yup, old cliche but they do thrive off their passion and maybe used it all up last week

Happy to see that punished, it's particularly obvious example, but players get away with far too much grasping for the ball while they're on the floor.

I don't know it for a fact, but why else would they moved away from man of the match other than to prepare for that sort of possibility?Slick wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 7:23 pmReallysockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 7:22 pmAs far as we know. Mako Vunipola still has a fairly noticeable accent and he moved over to Wales when a little older than Faletau, but only lived there for a couple of years before moving to England. Meanwhile, Billy has no trace of Welsh.

It makes for consistency with the women's game, I guess.
I mean, they are all rugby players aren't they? That is what they are being judged on for that gong.
