Scotland managed a decent score against Romania. The points difference scenario is very unlikely imo (Boks/Ireland/Scotland all ending on 15 points), it would need the Boks to get 5 points against Tonga (likely), Scotland to get 5 points against Ireland (unlikely), and Ireland to only get 1 bonus point not 2 (impossible to guess the probability given the chance of Scotland scoring 4 tries and winning is low, but it has to be only 1 bonus point, If Ireland score 4 tries and lose by 7 points or less then it never goes to points difference and if the Boks get a 4 try win against Tonga they're through).

I don't think it's going to points difference, and if the Boks get a 4 try win against Tonga it's enough (maybe Scotland beat Ireland, but the 4 try win against Ireland is much less likely than that). But if it does go to points difference the Boks need to be ahead of Scotland. Scotland is on +97, the Boks are on +86. The biggest Scotland total possible would be something like a 30 to 40 point win over Ireland (unlikely in the extreme, but I'm just looking at their biggest possible total), putting Scotland on +127 to +137. Ireland are on +122 (for points difference to come into it, Ireland would have to lose, so this would be lower). Which means the Boks need to go for a 50 point win to be sure.

We've seen this before in Super Rugby, when the pressure comes on in these situations our teams usually get the points difference whatever it is. I'm expecting a heavy Bok win now.
