Sounds like Emoni Narawa may play against the Highlanders on Saturday.

Hope so - I rate him very highly, and was gutted that he didn't get to play at the RWC.

He's coming back from the bench.

Chiefs: Shaun Stevenson, Daniel Rona, Rameka Poihipi, Quinn Tupaea, Etene Nanai-Seturo, Damian McKenzie, Cortez Ratima, Luke Jacobson (capt), Kaylum Boshier, Samipeni Finau, Tupou Vaa’i, Josh Lord, Reuben O’Neill, Bradley Slater, Jared Proffit.
Reserves: Tyrone Thompson, Aidan Ross, George Dyer, Naitoa Ah Kuoi, Wallace Sititi, Xavier Roe, Josh Ioane, Emoni Narawa.

I hope he can stay fit this season. I rewatched highlights of his only test to date, vs Argentina in Mendoza last year, and it confirmed my first impression that he was quick and accurate on both attack and defence. Reckon he's made for test footy. Would love to see him and Tele'a play regularly together in black.

Quite an experimental sort of a 'Canes side.

Giving the Rebels a chance in true Canes style, hence the single title for the good guys.

19 - 0 after amazing counter attack from a high kick

EDIT: some players seem to be flirting with trouble by grounding the ball very close to the dead ball line.

The Canes, led by the tactical kicking of...

checks notes,

Kirifi

are too quick, too powerful for a Rebels side that looks to be not really in the contest.

In a masterful bit of sideline coaching, Guy Smiley finds the right words to spur the Rebels into scoring.

Your stream must be lagging a bit Jethro, Perenara has scored to take his personal try tally level with Doug Howlett's on the all time list.

47-14

The end of a most entertaining match, Canes the predictable winners by 54 - 28 (the result being predictable, not the score).

From being down 0 - 33, the Rebs recovered and outscored the Canes 28 - 21.

Canes off to a great 5-0 start. Thought TJ looked very good.

Are the 'Canes a particularly strong side this season? They are going well by the looks of things, I haven't been able to watch any games as I can't be arsed with hooky streams.

I'm interested in how well-drilled they look, their coach is the son of former Scotland scrum half Roy Laidlaw and cousin to erstwhile Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw.

They look good on attack, but the defense shows sieve like properties on occasion. Not looking forward to what the Chiefs will do to them if I had to be brutally honest.

Fingers crossed the Reds (my Oz team) can round out the weekend for me.
