You honestly don't have to go to a game with your side playing a South African side. Bur you would definitely miss out on something. Your choice
2024/2025 Not Heineken Cup
Noone has bothered to explain why it's such a heated experience for you besides the fact that historically it's not something you are used to

Very good. However we can all read the posts from the SA fans talking about how good a competition it is and how thrilled they are to be a part of one of the very best things in professional rugby._Os_ wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 11:00 amSounds like a glorious Trans Tasman Soup with a Fijian side thrown in and a 6th NZ side pretending to not be that.
You are the Aussies of the NH.
Not giving a shit about getting SA, the pariah of the rugby world, out of their self inflicted isolation is not the same thing as wanting isolation for ourselves, especially given the sheer breadth of nations and nationalities involved already
I have employees like that. " oh...there is so much wrong. '
Ask them to list it and it's " oh , it's been discussed so many times before ".
I just shake my head in as understanding a manner as possible and carry on
You were involved in some of the arguments. You didn't understand them then and you don't remember them now. What's the point in us continuing to try and educate a supporter of a piss weak team who doesn't even follow the competition or understand what's going on?
It's on the previous page you fuckwit.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Weird you'd go the race route. There's no lack of ethnic diversity to be found in the European teams even if you assume all white people are ethnically homogenous (which they aren't).assfly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 10:19 amWell that certainly changes things.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 10:17 am This board is too small to make any sweeping judgements. I've seen plenty of anti-Saffa inclusion sentiment on other platforms like Reddit and Facebook from Celts and the French.
Better withdraw from the Champions Cup so it can become ethnically homogenous again, some nerds on Reddit are unhappy.
Reddit is a massive internet platform, the idea that it's still just a place for nerds and shut ins is at least a decade out of date. r/rugbyunion is in the top 1% of subs there, notably with a Saffa contingent whose carry on plays into the negative stereotypes people have already raised.

Actually an interesting post. You are getting to know us better JM. Normal in SA for good people to see stuff they dislike, and to ignore it as there's nothing they can do anyway. It is not stupidity, it is life in SA.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 11:06 am"The best thing to do when faced with a major change to a thing you care about, that you believe is a dreadful idea a with serious negative consequences for many of the ways which make that thing good in the first place, is to not say anything and not engage in anything and just pretend it didn't happen" (c) Sards

No, no. Just loudmouth South Africans who seem to think it's their inalienable right to participate in a regional competition at the opposite end of the earth. Well and the ones who ref whinge constantly and insist that only world cups matter when they're losing a bunch of tests in between.assfly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 11:21 amI dunno man, sounds like you hate Africans.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 11:20 am Weird you'd go the race route. I am lukewarm on the Euro comps because of the often repeated English objections. I have been told we are unwelcome and I accept that. So, none of those nice messages are from me.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 11:10 amVery good. Enjoying the URC though, a comp that shouldn't work but does. We're a strangely unisolated pariah, it's almost like we're the opposite of that.

We didn't hold a referendum on it. The decision was made and most accepted it, like myself who much prefers the NH competitions.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 11:25 am No, no. It's not the opposite end of the earth ffs, it's north for a few hours.
As for ref moaning, we don't have a monopoly on that either. All teams have their twat fans.
But I get it, you hate South Africans so there is no point in arguing. The only difference is that your hatred doesn't change the fact that they are in the Champions Cup and will be for a long time. So perhaps you can watch replays of previous competitions when only European teams played, and you can tell your kids and grandkids how amazing it was then and how shit it is now because you hate South Africans.

Well I havent seen one bit of Saffer about ref whinging on Asmo's board. Moseley. But I'm also a member at Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield. I keep meaning to join Erdington because along with Lichfield them do some excellent work in the community, but I've been meaning to do that a few years now.Sards wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 8:20 amWho do you support.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 8:19 am And my point remains the same, we do not want or need you. Piss off and if the door hits you on the way out so be it.
I can't blame NZ and Oz for not wanting you, so go play with yourselves or ideally help build a rugby comp across SA, Zim and Namibia. Do something useful instead of trying to sponge off European ruby, we have people in Europe we could be helping if that's something we should be doing. If all that means rugby dies in SA then that's simply down to a lack of interest in SA, which is to say tough.
But even with the daft travel and pollution this adds to our game I sadly concede if you start showing financial worth our clubs/unions will happily go along for the pony show. Presently you don't seem to offer any money so my hopes in this aren't completely removed.
Absent of a billionaire oddly deciding to make Moseley the dominant force in rugby they're never going to rise above a semi-professional level, and that's fine, but they're certainly not material to professional rugby in England or looking to the wider European events

This explains a bit why the shitty structure of the tournament is accepted. The distances travelled remains a bit of stain considering the environmental issues. If you follow football as well, which many do you will be fed up of them constantly adding more teams and games and messing around with the structures of tournaments._Os_ wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 11:22 amActually an interesting post. I read that Premier Sports seem to be the front runners in the bidding for TV rights in the UK.

Oh great. I have had a sky subscription for years and no way can I prise the films and other sh1t from family. You just know that if Premier get it they'll only offer it with the highest cost subscription. So it'd be goodbye from me to 6 nations.GrahamWa wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 9:09 am I read that Premier Sports seem to be the front runners in the bidding for TV rights in the UK.

It's not been on Sky Sports for years. Sky shot their load getting the summer tours. Premier will have loads of rugby if they get EPCR with URC & Top 14 already on it for next season. It'll be cheaper than Sky Sports as well.PCPhil wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 9:56 amOh great. I have had a sky subscription for years and no way can I prise the films and other sh1t from family. In know it's not been on sky but just making the point that there is no way I am shelling out twice for pay per view. If you could just buy the particular interests you want from each provider it would be great. But they don't want that.GrahamWa wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 10:14 amIt's not been on Sky Sports for years.
