Expect some wet and muddy fields. Some heavy rains with snow on the mountains.
This shouldn't happen in a World Cup
Ireland v Australia match cancelled. Ireland through to semis, Australia out.
Who's supposed to ber on this pitch next?
Australia RU not happy at all. Nor would I be, all the other matches were completed in equally poor conditions. Luck of the Irish I guess!
Rugby Australia high-performance boss Peter Horne this morning lodged an appeal with World Rugby, saying there had been no reasonable attempt to reschedule the fixture, as per the tournament provisions.

I'd have fancied us to absolutely hump them given our relative performance against Italy

Well we are into the semis apparently, with six games!?! Can someone explain maths to the Saffas or at least explain to the rest of us how we are going to determine a final from six winning teams
Either Google have this completely wrong or the education system in SA is a sad indictment of that Nation. Of course it could be the RU, drunk again on G&Ts.

There are three tiers of to the competition after the pool stage - 1st to 4th; 5th to 8th; and 9th to 12th. Winners of the semi-finals will contest the final; 5th/6th playoff; and 9th/10th playoff respectively. Semi-final losers will also play placing matches with the team finishing 12th relegated.

And how are they determining the first 4 teams exactly? Is this based on semi result and Pool performance?

Taken from the pool rankings. 3 pool winners + best 2nd placed team go into top tier semi-finals. Other two 2nd placed + two best 3rd placed go into middle tier semi-finals. Last placed teams in the pools + worst 3rd placed team are in the bottom tier semi-finals.

It's a sh*t system and should be changed to
- 4 pools
- with the teams playing the ones in their pools

Amazed we haven't seen a card yet either. Eng lineout was about 30 degrees sideways and huge fwd pass ignored in build up which eventually resulted in the try.

That penalty stems from field position gifted from the absolutely absurd maul call.
Another nicely worked try to strike back.

Yeah, I think he's just not got a very good grasp of the laws. Maybe a bit more time reading them and fewer bicep curls are in order.

In space of 10 secs, he misses Eng in at the side followed by high tackle by Ire

Irish attacks the same as France last night: just shipping the ball on with nobody drawing a tackler. Way too easy to defend.

Should be a penalty that. Irish 11 deliberately dumps the ball over the hoardings to stop a quick throw.

Ref and TMO having fun making a mockery of this one. That lineout call against Georgia to cancel the try and the win is as sketchy as you'll ever see. I've watched it a dozen times and still not clear there was an obstruction.
