John Blain on TMS - a real blast from the past. Remember watching him at Northampton a number of times.

I mean he is being carted around by an associate team - does anyone wonder why he doesn't get the 'props' many believe he deserves. Wow - that was awful from NZ.
No way they are winning this tournament. Afghanistan are looking at this performance and fancy their chances of finishing 2nd in the group.
NZ have gone completely off the boil.

Afghanistan win the toss and will bowl first. I want a close match with an Afghan win and then completely bottle it against The Crappers.

Afghanis in their anthem lineup all so very sharp-nosed.
Quite a striking look.

Oh no.....I've just realized. For NZ to have a better chance of going through to the semis - then India need to win this match.
That is disappointing.

^^^ When Williamson and Conway mustered just one run between them I realised that if we lost and then Afghanistan beat India we would be out on run rate alone.

Ind 135/0 after 14. This could get big.

Two good overs, 2 wickets (both the set batters) and the score stalls.
Think India might be disappointed by their final score. They were on for a 200.

175/2 with 12 balls to go...
25 from 12 is doable.

So yeah.....I got that wrong.
If Bangladesh get out cheaply.....how badly will it affect their NRR?

Their NRR from their first three games is 3.097, thanks to their substantial win over Scotland, which could prove useful if they can't get close to India's total.

Apparently, Afghanistan will need to score at least 91 runs to stay above NZ on NRR. As they are now 13/2, that looks like it might be difficult for them.Thor Sedan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 4:10 pmOops....Afghanistan yes.Lobby wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 3:59 pmAfghanistan, not Bangladesh.Thor Sedan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 3:47 pm So yeah.....I got that wrong.

I don't like this feeling where I am kind of rooting for India for purely selfish reasons.Lobby wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 4:22 pmApparently, Afghanistan will need to score at least 91 runs to stay above NZ on NRR. As they are now 13/2, that looks like it might be difficult for them.

Having safely negotiated Afghanistan, which we have yet to do, India's run rate at the end of this game will be interesting.
They could well thrash Scotland.
They could well thrash Scotland.
They attack everyone's bowling.
Good call re the non-catch
I drink and I forget things.
Afghanistan's NRR reduced to 1.481, so still above NZ for the time being.Thor Sedan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 4:25 pmI don't like this feeling where I am kind of rooting for India for purely selfish reasons.

Seems that during his innings, Guptill dropped 4.4 kilos in the 33 degree heat.
