If Treviso had to travel to the Highveld at 1300m where it would have been about 15 degrees and dropping and no spectators they wouldn't have had it so easy. It just shows what a mockery the United Cup may be.

Nah. Bulls don't travel. It's highly embarrassing

The hype around the Bulls in recent months has been ridiculous, perhaps they started to believe it themselves. Fact is, the rugby we've been playing in SA recently has been utter shit and they've been the best of a bad bunch.

Let's hope this is a wake up call for the Boks, otherwise we're going to get thumped.
This is what I've been saying all year.

The stagnation in our domestic game has been very marked. The obsession with the forward domination game by "ysters" means we have no plan B ever. Yesterday a hooker in the Bulls-WP game scored 4 tries. The top try scorer in the Varsity Cup was a hooker.

This tells you everything you need to know about the South African approach. We've forgotten how to build phases and crack defenses with the backline. Our attacking patterns are weak to non-existent. The passing game is not being coached, this is very evident. The first receiver on any attacking move in the opponents half is usually a forward.

The strategy is all about territory. Get into the opponents 22 and then grind. Score tries through rolling mauls or camp on the five yard line with endless pick and go's until you get over or get a penalty.

I think this is a great wake up call. The coaches are going to have to start taking more risks if they want to succeed in this new competition. I blame the coaches for the situation players like Curwin and Willemse find themselves in. I was watching some of the early 2020 Super Rugby matches before play was suspended. The Sharks looked awesome on their tour of Australia. They have gone backwards.

Exeter is the top side in England and they play exactly the same brand of Rugby. It’s ugly, but effective.

The fucking KICKING game clearly was yesterday. Unbelievable. Smith should have been pulled 15 minutes in. In fact, 5 minutes after the useless Snail so that the seat was warm and sweaty. Is there a more overrated scrumhalf in world rugby?

I dont mind kicking when we are in our 22 but vok me this box kick kak got to me. The kick comes from our schoolboy rugby. The players have this plan A (kicking) in their head and no plan B if it don't work.

That's why I appreciate Paul Roos and Grey College schoolboy game. Playing running rugby.

True, they have a strong lineout and scrum, and score almost every time they reach their opponents 22.

But they also mix it up with an incredible backline. Any team with players like Slade, O'Flaherty (most meters gained and defenders beaten in the Premiership), Nowell and Hogg can't be described as ugly.
