Boks very seldom win by 20+ points against quality opponents. 3-5 points is enough for us.
Official Lions selection, moaning and bitching thread
Well the Lions may have been quality opponents on paper, but on grass they were crap. Your lot scored twice the number of tries as they did. When was the last time the Boks managed that against "quality" opposition?
And I'm curious about how you rate this year's tourists compared to past Lions teams to SA. In terms of failing to deliver on potential, they'd have to be close to the worst side ever, shirley?

There would be one from a winger if Williams was capable of executing a two on one.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
The whole tour was shit. What more do you want?Gumboot wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 8:54 pm Well the Lions may have been quality opponents on paper, but on grass they were crap. This! If I was a major sponsor of the Lions Tour I would be up in arms over the lack of spectacle provided. I can't imagine many of them thought the Lions Tour is something they might want to be associated with going forward. As a product the tour as a whole was awful and even the Sky TV commentators and pundits were struggling to get excited about the games - either Lions thumping weakened provincial teams or tests that were just turgid shit. I have never seen a squad of talented players made to look so awful by a game plan. I suspect that even if the powers that be wanted to keep Gatland for another Tour the sponsors might have a wee word in their ears and suggest this was a bad idea for their product.Slick wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 10:07 pmThe whole tour was shit. It doesn't have to be this way, I watched a recording of the Aussies v NZ game after the Lions game and it was immeasurably more enjoyable and exciting to watch.
We could have lost like Aus or draw like NZ. Me, I'm happy that we won after everything that happened in the past 2 years.
Springboks, Stormers and WP supporter.
Me too, bro. No way the Lions deserved to win the way they played.handyman wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 8:25 amWe could have lost like Aus or draw like NZ. Me, I'm happy that we won after everything that happened in the past 2 years.
Anyway, had enough of this official moaning and bitching thread. Onward and upward...

Alex Payne is a massive Lions fan boy and listening to him on the most recent The Good, The Bad and The Rugby really put into perspective how crap this tour was, his disappointment was palpable. What really did it was when he mentioned how this was the first one he was really able to show to and share with his son, how he wanted his son to have the same excitement he used to get out of a Lions tour when he was younger, but the rugby just wasn't able to do it.dpedin wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 7:05 pmThis! Arrogant & ignorant post. Maybe it was rather the bok defence that was too good, not tactics and selection that were wrong.
Watching this 2 Sides thing…
How much better would it have been to have delayed for a year and we are now coming up to a Lions series after a full 6N, a URC and a GP season?
Still gutted it went ahead. And not just because the Saffers were utter cunts
