You've only lost Mills from the bowling line up haven't you? And although Roy has been in good form - you've got plenty of back up for opening.

Think Buttler will be looking forward to the NZ bowling line up - which has been very hittable over the last few games. The Scottish innings was particularly concerning.

Only Mills in the tournament proper, but we lost Sam Curran just before, Wood's been injured during the tournament and is apparently struggling again, and we obviously don't have Archer or Stokes either.

Re injuries, our main one has been Lockie Ferguson. Adam Milne just doesn't compare.

Perhaps - but your performances have been without Archer and Stokes - so that doesn't really factor. Woods would be a bit of a loss if he has broken down. But all your bowlers have been bowling well and taking wickets.

Unfortunately NZ has Santner and Milne who have been so hittable and not taking wickets. If Boult, Sodhi or Southee fail to turn up we're in trouble.

Cricinfo has India bowling coach stating that India lost out because their captain is a tosser.

Edit: Oh no, wait, sorry, India lost out because their captain lost the toss.

What’s the general view on Mark Wood. When fit is a decent bowler when he’s on form. He just seems to be forever broken. In for one game, out for the series. Plays two in a row and that’s almost a season ender for him.

Vince. Who will actually come into the side is unknown at this stage. Maybe Malan to open and Billings into the middle order, but maybe we'll beef up the bowling a bit more instead.

^^^ Pakistan won comfortably.

Current Indian innings a blitz thus far. 70-0 off just 8 overs.
They look so much classier than NZ. They just seem to have developed a complex re. the Black Caps, pretty much as we have against the Australians in cricket.
Should NZ make the final you'd expect they'd prefer Pakistan to Australia.

Most evidence suggests they stop watching, hence why tournament formats have been changed to give them more guaranteed games.

I'm fearful for you blokes. England has an absolute machine of a team. I am however loyal to most SH teams bar the Aus cricket team. I have too much mental scarring from Hayden, McGrath and particularly Shane Warne.

Oh I genuinely think England will win comfortably - they are a better side than NZ. Better bowlers, MUCH better spinners and an in form, superior batting line up. The only place NZ match up with them is the fielding.

I know some English fans are doing the whole 'well English cricket is English cricket and we're ripe for a collapse'.....but I think they are secretly pretty confident - and rightly so.

The "machine" has broken a few parts. Does anyone seriously think we'd have won the ODI world cup without Roy, Stokes, and Archer? We're still a good side but we're clearly not unbeatable, as the Saffers showed, and losing Roy on top of Mills is a huge blow.

Yep - they are huge losses - but your recent performances have been without them. And your recent performances have been impressive. The SA result was perhaps a lowering of intensity due to a 'job done so far' attitude.

I don't expect them to be as sloppy as they were against SA.

Basically - if England play at 100% and NZ play at 100% - England will win.

No mockers - as a NZ supporter I hope we win. But England are currently an all-round better side than NZ - certainly in performances in this tournament. Just because I say NZ most likely won't win - doesn't mean I am trying to appeal to the apparent mockers gods.
