Coaches (and DORs) often comment on potential red card incidents. Not great, but it happens. A non neutral TMO is very much out of the ordinary for a test series and worthy of comment.

Hour long videos and burner Twitter accounts bitching about every single decision down to not straight throws, not so much.

You comfortable with Rassie's latest content then?

Not comfortable with it but it seems to be the way rugby (and society in general) is going. I did find the bit about the Kolbe tackle and not rolling away quite interesting especially seeing as it happens in front of Berry and is in a kickable position. IMO the Lions have been offside at rucks a lot on the whole tour and not called for it.

The complaining about Faf's yellow was quite vociferous and pretty unbecoming from the Lions camp. They have been very quiet since last weekend's game.

The Lions got fucked on several occasions by the ref in the first half, there's genuinely no point to any of this.

I'm pretty sure I could watch the game and point out multiple occasions where SA are offside at rucks.

It's rugby FFS. There are multiple infringements at every breakdown and it's a bloody hard game to ref.

The Kolbe tackle is two players competing for the ball, it's as marginal a call as you can get in those circumstances.

Worse, I reckon. He's complaining about offsides and Kolbe being challenged in the air, not BOD being speared off the ball and put in hospital.

The Boks were offside a lot too and often in front of the kicker etc. If the refs are consistent then grand but it was the Lions who were the only side pinged being in front of the kicker on Saturday. If anyone could be arsed, you could go through every ruck and maul and pick up a penalty.

This could back fire quite spectacularly on Rassie if the refs start getting pedantic.

On the last tour of SA the Lions got utterly fucked by a gouge being picked up and not being red carded in the first minute of the game and I don't remember this level of whinging.

I've just watched the whole thing. I suggest that anybody who wants to climb into Rassie does the same.

His reasons for doing the video are clear; World Rugby have not given him the time to discuss his concerns. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with a video like this going into the public domain, but his frustrations are clear.

Regarding the points he raises, he does make very good points. I totally missed the spear tackle by Duhan on Mapimpi after Am's hit on Daly. I'm sure if Gatland did the same thing, he'd pick up on a lot of things too, but Rassie put's forward a very damning case against the match officials.

I don't think anybody is going to come away from this looking good.

RASSIE ERASMUS is battling a life-threatening illness, according to South African media reports.

The 47-year-old who transformed the national team from a laughing stock to world champions within 18 months struggled with a rare autoimmune disease last year.

Called microscopic polyangiitis with granulomatosis, it can affect organs such as the kidneys and lungs and also sinuses and trachea.
And his brain by the look of things too.

But often the examples he cites came at critical moments in the match and often in kickable positions.
