Damn it.
Fair play to Aus for backing themselves and getting the score deep in the red.
They got round our blitz too easily for a lot of the game.

That's rotten by Smith on the edge of the defence there. He had a good game aside from that.
England a but to loose but Aus did well to pull it out.

Great try, but there are the numbers to drift comfortably there. Just wait out the error rather than bite in and give them a chance. I know you're wedded to the system, but it's been a shit show.
Outside defence has been all over the place

England's middle 40 was absolutely rancid, that's where the game was lost. It was all catch up from there.

Fun game.
Nice to see some attacking rugby.
Well done Ozzies and Joe, deserved it over the 80 minutes.

Slade fuck off forever and take Speccer with you, and Borthwick you are as shit an England coach as has ever existed, an utter joke.
The fault lies entirely with the coach for this, honestly i am so angry i am lost for words.

It was exciting, there was some good stuff, but also a lot of weak stuff from both teams.
Some of the England defence has been crazy. Just flying out blind/as individuals. Nothing cohesive as a unit.
Ultimately though too many England players couldn't live with the pace their counterparts put on the ball/proceedings. That was the difference.

Ah don’t be , Aus deserved that.
Cole and Martin need to be retired as well as the ones you mention. I’d say Ford is also probably done now too.

Quality test match, really enjoyed that.
England need to fix their defence. For all their attacking prowess that they have, you should not be conceding 42 points at home.
But happy for the Aussie karnts. The rugby world needs a strong Australia, and for them to be a pack of hateful arrogant c*nts

Don't get playing the likes of Slade and Ford when they've been injured. Also Dan Cole hasn't been Tigers starting tighthead for a season so how does he get selected for England when Tigers starting tighthead is English. Spencer should have been selected about 6 years ago instead of Youngs/Care not once he is 31.

Slade, again, rushed up to create a dogleg and didn't shut down the pass. Time and time again he does this. Time and time again he puts us in trouble. He is absolute fucking cancer in this team and should be nowhere near an international shirt. Offers nothing in attack and in the event he actually gets a chance to make a tackle he usually misses. 5/5 in defence today - genuinely making me miss Guy fucking Porter.
England were really poor today. The pack got run over for an hour, the defence was all over the place again, and Borthwick yet again brings on Ford at 10 and yet again it backfires.

Borthwick et al seem to think they have won the game when they are in front at 60min. Giving high fives, laughing, joking and celebrating. Was the same against SA in the RWC semi final last year. Today again.

Great game for the errrr neutrals.
Also as a neutral England are really fucking awful to watch and very dumb, I feel sorry for England fans, it just doesn’t seem to change.
Big news is well done to the Wallabies. I don’t think anyone, particularly that England team, was expecting them to front up like that and at times dominate in the tight. And so good to see them back to a semblance of an Aussie team throwing it about. The whole pack was great - will be even better when they learn to resource rucks properly- and yes, there is a chance they will give the Lions a game.

Bell had beaten 8 defenders by half time. Hugely physical display allied to a desire to move the ball and attack England, recognising England's defence will cough up chances if you matador them

It’s not just Slade, their whole rush defence is an abomination for this level. As I said last week they are all just running as fast as they can with no one seemingly actually looking at what is in front of them and marshalling it

If Itoje had just had the wit to see the kick wasn't going ten, & let it hit the ground; then it was an English scrum on halfway, with less than a minute to go. For someone who's supposed to be one of the smart ones, it was dumb

He definitely didn’t. But I don’t want to be too harsh on him (believe it or not) because he had a decent game and shouldn’t have been put in that position

Very dumb. Was a good restart though and close enough to 10m for him to obvs make that call to go for it. He was captain as well by then I think , not sure that’s good for him.

I agree - my criticism of Slade is that he is absolute shit getting lauded as being some sort of legend while repeatedly putting us in the hole with his decision making in defence and his tackling. But as a lot of us have been saying since Borthwick brought this defence in, a system that can put teams under pressure but is almost guaranteed to gift teams tries multiple times a match is not worth it.
My working theory is that our defeats to teams like SA mean we're hyper focused on shutting down big runners at source while failing to recognise that good international players are able to move the ball and exploit this kamikaze approach. It will win the occasional game. It has lost us many, many more. And it's what this team is based on! Absolute madness.
A side effect of the madness is also that our players are fucking gassed by 50 minutes. Poor bastards are having to sprint at players in defence and scramble to cover the inevitable doglegs and breaks, and when we have the ball they are spending half the time chasing kicks. It's no surprise we can't close games out.

He went to Harrow, got 5 A levels and then a masters in Politics from SOAS
