Pollard ACL tear confirmed. Bummer.
Will the Springboks be back to using the reliable Jantjies?
Next in line, so yes, probably.
And then we have Bosch, Willemse and maybe Frans Steyn as bench flyhalves.
Eish.

I suspect Rob du Preez will be selected, as he's got a lot more gametime behind him leading into TRC.

On fire....and he passes and offloads...
And notice he breaks the advantage line with his carries averaging just less than 5m a carry. I am sorry but that all means a lot more to continuity in the backline to me rather than going to ground in 3 m and setting up a ruck.
But then we all different expectations

Statattack! (Not to be confused with that other perennial Sards staple, the Tatattack)
It does look impressive, not having seen him play recently bar highlight reels.

Is he the good 'roid monkey or the not so good 'roid monkey? The good one is playing lock if I remember.

Incorrect. I said he was
likely to start ahead of EJ because of his game time and Pollard's injury.
Who would you have starting at flyhalf in 2 months time against the All Blacks?

Fair enough. I hope his boxing match with Cornal Hendricks is enough training.
Do you watch much of the overseas rugby?

I watch the highlights after every weekend
I have seen nothing to convince me that useless blob should ever wear the green and gold again
Your Sharks bias is quite funny at times

It's great to have someone like Jantjies on the bench, good enough to cover 10 and 12. We need Willemse's physicality and magic at 10.

Publicity stunt. No real fight happened. They played a boxing game on a Playstation.

Yeah, I mean, I don't blame them for not fighting. They are professional athletes and it's a massive risk to their careers...possibly injury, concussion etc...but why promote it in the first place?
Did they think fans would find it funny? All they did was harm their reputation and for what?

Shits and giggles?
I mean, who didn't get into lockdown induced shitty ideas? I agree it was a letdown and amateurish, but with how popular e-gaming (seemingly/apparently) is and will become in future, probably not the worst marketing/pr induced crap you will see. Still cringeworthy though.

I was under the impression it was going to be nothing else but a "virtual match" from the get go. Was it advertised as anything else? I'd say good on them for doing something to generate extra income under the circumstances. If it was advertised as something ells though, then yes they're knobheads.

I wasn't paying close attention to it, and didn't make an attempt to watch it, but I was under the impression it was supposed to be a real fight.
Most of the marketing I saw gave that impression. Not sure if something in the small print somewhere on the posters had a disclaimer or something.
When I was curios as to the result and searched for it, I just found some articles where a lot of fans were apparently unhappy and voiced that unhappiness in the comments during the live stream. So I was obviously not the only one that was deceived.

Koch had a monster of a game against Leinster. Full 80 minutes, made mincemeat of Cian Healy in the scrum and made 17 tackles. Best game I've ever seen him play. Rhodes had a big game too, nearly took Sexton's head off in one tackle.

Halftime in Toulouse vs Ulster and Kolbe has scored two fantastic tries.
His step off his right leg is almost impossible to defend against.

I see he ended up getting man of the match.
Aside from the tries, he does so much work off the ball. He's also playing for an incredible Toulouse team.
Must be the best backline player in the world at the moment.

I'd dig to see them play against the Crusaders
In fact a little tournament with
2 Kiwi sides
2 SA sides
2 Aussie
2 Pom
2 Irish
2 French
1 Welsh
1 Scottish
Could be fun

Ja he is still young and has always been very talented. We are spoiled with big nr7 flankers.

If he was a different nationality he'd have 50 caps by now. We have always been blessed with depth in that jersey.
Reminds me of Jacques Burger. A proper workhorse. He even seems surprised when he scored.
