He was kak. I have tried to be diplomatic but that is a joke.

Marx, Wiese, Hendricks all had an outstanding game. Even Kolisi was massive.

Yeah, he’s seeing the red mist.

It just reminded me how stupid the other place was. The mere joking insinuation a player took roids was a bannable offence at PR.

I can only assume it was from some silly precedent where Jake or another took badly to an insinuation about English Orcs or something and banned someone in a girly fit of rage.

He sure did.

Willemse was decent at 10 although his kicking left a lot to be desired. I personally think both Kolisi and Wiese were both better contenders for MOTM.

I agree about his kicking. But his stepping , off loading, distribution changed our backline in a much more attacking force. His defense is excellent. He don't only tackle but contest well in the ruck after the tackle. I would love to see them bringing Gelant earlier. These two has been in top form all season.

A much better performance.
Ginga
Marx
Eben
Lood
Kolisi
Jasper were MASSIVE.
Fatty and Sous were both good.

I really liked our backline.
Am in at 13 and I'm happy.

The problem is that we need an 80% kicker. We all know it ain't Wazza. So who gets dropped and who is added to take over the kicking duties?

Agreed. Liked every part of his game today, except the kicking.
Both that he made some bad decisions to kick when there were better opportunities, but also that he kicked so badly when he decided to kick.

He and Willie and DDA all kicked very badly. Only Jaden kicked accurately today.

I'd love to see Am at 13 and Esterhuizen at 12.

I'm really souring on DDA lately. As good as he was during the 2019 RWC, that was 3 years ago and it doesn't seem like his game has evolved at all.
Just a battering ram that has superglue hands. I'm getting tired of him going for bad kicks all the time when we have options out wide. They almost never come off and we keep losing possession and momentum on attack. It's infuriating.

Esterhuizen hasn't really shined a green jersey, but maybe with Willemse inside and Am outside he will be able to create something. It's worth trying IMO.

When Willemse and Pollard are playing 10 and 12 they seem to alternate from play to play. It actually seemed to work quite well and created a ton of opportunities for the players outside them.

I quite like having both of them and Willie creating opportunities for Am, Mapimpi and whoever is on the other wing.

My first thought on that was that the Aussie guy must have gone for his eyes to begin with which had enraged Etzebeth and led to them both having a go at each other’s eyes.

Should have been 2 reds really. Particularly because if you don’t know the game it looks like 2 players scratching each other which is fucking sad

I can't find anything from google on the situation Lavanini found himself in. He committed a yellow card offence, no question, he didn't retreat ten or to his own line before making the tackle, but since it was after the knock on and wasn't dirty or violent, I thought the card should have been overturned.

Any play after the knock on is chalked off, as per the try.

Can anyone point to the specific situation here and show why the card stood?

This is just a point of interest for me, I'm not really disputing it as such.
In one of the games in the Republic a Saffa was carded for tackling the AB halfback after the whistle had gone, if that's any help.

The utter absolute genius of Foster in picking the same team.
Me and him both knew it would pay off.

Was out last night and got home 17 minutes into the replay with ABs 10-0 up.
It was soon apparent that these were the stinging black hornets of lore, if not a serious upgrade on the ancients.
It eventuated into a fantastic performance, and as the new coaches and the players settle into each other then things can only get even better.

Yes, we all retain hope that Robertson will still be around post-France to take over, but the match comments (or rather lack of) on here don't reflect what was a mighty AB effort -- just a couple of begrudging shrugs from the locals, with the only real enthusiasm for the ABs coming from Saffas, particularly Sards.

There is nothing to celebrate here other than a decent win...

the team can only lift and perform to their potential when the coach is under attack (for his dismal record) and it looks for all the world as if consistent selections have been almost forced upon him because it runs totally counter to his form and the pattern of his entire ten years with the ABs. Additionally, he's finally selecting Mo'unga over Barrett and the backline is firing...

Inconsistent results and form are a sign of a coach who hasn't actually 'got' his dressing room. A drowning ship has been thrown two lifeboats and that has steadied the panic.

As for Razor... if NZR don't come out with a signed contract saying he will be the senior coach after the RWC then why would anyone realistically assume he'll be here, patiently waiting for one?

Totally agree. I also have an awful feeling Razor will be signed up by another country pre-world cup as NZ Rugby again wait till after a world cup failure to make a decision...

Why don't they plan ahead? Is it because ideally they want Foster's assistant to take over?

I'd be very surprised if Razor was still available by the time the RWC rolls around. He's a driven man with strong aspirations and a healthy desire to define himself through his coaching.

In immediate news, Ardie Savea won't play the first Bledisloe game, which is scheduled for Melbourne on the 15th. He's staying home with his partner expecting a child.

Luke Jacobson has been added as Frizell is out with injury. There are a few other changes...

What a great game and result for the Boks. I can't remember the last time I saw the team so angry, and they really channeled into their game.

Yet again, Willie le Roux proves the difference in our backline. Yes, a couple of mistakes, but he's involved in every attack with generated. I loved seeing him and Willemse play together.

Big game from Kolisi, I could see early on that he was going to have a big one. Man I just wish he played like that more regularly.

Hendrikse looks very comfortable in that 9 jersey. His kicking was outstanding. I think Faf is going to have to fight for that jersey back. Same with Wiese, although I'd like to see Roos come off the bench so he's given an opportunity.

We need to see someone else in the 12 jersey now, surely. Apart from his try, DDE was pretty average.

The execution was flawless. Hendrikse got it to land exactly where he wanted, and Moodie timed his run and catch perfectly.

I know people moan a lot about our kicking game, but when it comes of like this it is a thing of beauty.
