Who, on gods earth, would have an affair with Gove!
The real bollocks is that statement, there are a small minority who will believe that but to misrepresent what the majority of people marching believe is completely disingenuous.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 11:00 amI’m not suggesting a French system by any means.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 10:53 amFrance has little time for special cases, however their youth regularly burn down their cities. 100%. What has colonial echoes is treating large sections of their community as a special case, unable to adhere to modern liberal principles, and insisting on that to be treated with kid gloves and respect
I am suggesting that any suggestion that Brits fought and died in the two world wars to allow for mass demonstrations demanding the ethnic cleansing of Jews is bollocks, I think they’re thinking of the other guys.
Given we have examples of minority communities who are pretty good at adhering to the principles of our modern society, I think it’s fairly patronising to suggest (not saying you have) that Muslims are unable to do so or are a special case. The policies of government and civic society have enabled this state of affairs
If you believe that the march and all the people on it are demanding ethnic cleansing of Jews, then well done, that's exactly what the daily mail wants you to think.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 11:00 amI’m not suggesting a French system by any means.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 10:53 amFrance has little time for special cases, however their youth regularly burn down their cities. He has some pretty vile views he is an Islamophobic cnut who has frequently had to apologise and retract his comments.
He does not distinguish between Islamic Zealots from normal followers of Islam.
Imagine if the cnut Morgan was interviewing a rabid Antisemite that wanted the Jews destroyed.
Murray represents the polar opposite of this regarding objectivity and reason. He has none.
He has actually toned things done and tried to disassociate himself from his earlier far right associates.
And tries to cancel anyone that calls him out on his views.
I don’t read the Daily Mail. I do, however, have the evidence of my eyes and ears and knowledge of some of the people marching. Not everyone marching is an anti-semite, it is in no way anti-semitic to criticise Israel (I have no love for them or more particularly their government), but anti-semitic views will not be in the minority on the march later today.Biffer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 7:04 amIf you believe that the march and all the people on it are demanding ethnic cleansing of Jews, then well done, that's exactly what the daily mail wants you to think.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 11:00 amI’m not suggesting a French system by any means.

Lets give it a few hours and see. No doubt we’re about due our weekly dose of being told to contextualise calls for jihad and that ‘from the river to the sea’ is simply referring to geographyBiffer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 9:35 amYou don't have to read the Daily Mail to swallow their bullshit.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 9:10 amOn the march later today? Oh boy.
Unless the Met have been procuring ‘disperse or we will fire’ banners, live ammo and lathis I think the colonial echoes are all in the heads of people who ought to know better.
They’re afraid of groups who have a high chance of causing civil disorder if they don’t get their way. Football fans? Easy enough to contain. Feminists? They’re not rioting any time soon. Radical islamists? They can cause choas. So like an abusive husband we mustn’t upset them. This is why an imam who called for Jihad and to wipe out the Jews in South London doesn’t warrant a criminal investigation, but holding up a picture of Bradley Lowry at a football match does.
The return to social media of Tommy Robinson just in time to get some skinheads arrested tomorrow is deeply unhelpful and will make the situation worse, but the fault for the chaos I think will happen tomorrow lies with the Met and those who decided to organise a deliberately provocative protest.
The large crowd of people bearing St George’s flags was seen walking along Embankment and shouting “England till I die”.
A line of police attempted to stop them from reaching Whitehall but the group pushed through, with some shouting “let’s have them” as officers hit out with batons.
Ben Jamal, the director of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (PSC), a lead organiser of today’s march, has said that the rally will avoid the Cenotaph and the area around Whitehall in central London.
In his role as the leading official in Europe’s largest Palestinian rights organisation, Jamal, 60, told the Today programme on BBC: “We knew it was going to be November the 11th, we said to the police we did not want to be anywhere near Whitehall on November the 11th, we did not want to disrupt preparations for the commemoration of Remembrance Day on the Sunday.”
He claimed Suella Braverman, the home secretary, had been told that the march would avoid the area where the memorial is located before she described pro-Palestinian demonstrations as “hate marches” in an article she wrote in The Times.
Jamal said: “It is inconceivable, unless she doesn’t speak to the police, that the home secretary did not know that when she made her remarks”.
No protest march is planned for Remembrance Sunday.
Yup. And, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, the trouble and violence has been kicked off by the far right nutters that listen to her.Slick wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 10:59 amBen Jamal, the director of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (PSC), a lead organiser of today’s march, has said that the rally will avoid the Cenotaph and the area around Whitehall in central London.

What's wrong with distrusting or disliking Islam. It's more specifically about the views of a political commentator who has a profound distrust and dislike of Islam.
He is the embodiment of Islamophobia.
Have you see his bibliography or read any of his musings.
If you had you may share his opinions but you could not say he did not have a rather skewed vision.
Incitement to riot?
Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, the former co-leader of the English Defence League, which staged often violent demonstrations against Islam, has posted videos showing he is among the crowds massing in central London on social media
Previously, he called for his supporters to come to the capital.
“We want to show the world that the British people ain’t having it,” Yaxley-Lennon, who goes by the name of Tommy Robinson, said on a social media video. “So … I hope this Saturday I see as many of you as possible in London.”

Braverman should be sacked tomorrow without failViolent clashes broke out, with protesters chanting: “You’re not English any more” towards officers.
Police managed to disperse the crowd, splitting them into two smaller groups.
The protesters were last seen running through Chinatown in the direction of Piccadilly Circus.
Outbreaks of disorder marred Armistice Day as hundreds of football fans and members of the far right gathered by the Cenotaph on Whitehall.
A number of them explicitly stated that they had come because of Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s comments over pro-Palestinian “hate marches” and that police treated them unfavourably compared to “politically correct minority groups.”
Former EDL founder Tommy Robinson was among a number of far right figures present.
In the build up to the two-minute silence elements of the crowd broke down metal gates to get closer to the Cenotaph.
Later, dozens of those present could be seen - some holding Israeli flags - attempting to reach the pro-Palestinian march with the Met’s Territorial Support Group intercepting them.
