She also insisted everyone in social housing should start businesses out of them, and use them as office, inferring everyone was lazy not to do so. Insisting they lacked ambition and aspiration.

She was adamant about this for months.

Around 2% of social housing tenants can start a business out of their Social Housing and council house.. as doing so would go against practically everyones tenancy agreement. Think your social housing provider cannot recategorise their social housing as business addresses, as it would really fuck them up and out of various tax benefits.
I think you have used the wrong login, that was actually coherent.

Could be an interesting shitfight in the coming weeks
Suella Braverman has just posted on X her letter to the PM following her sacking in the reshuffle yesterday. In it she says she only agreed to back him for the leadership last autumn, after Liz Truss resigned, after he agreed to conditions that were put down in writing, which included cutting legal migration, not watering down key pieces of Brexit legislation and publishing statutory guidance to schools to protect biological sex.
Braverman says Sunak has gone back on all these promises.
And she accuses him of opting for “wishful thinking as a comfort blanket to avoid having to make hard choices”.
These claims are incendiary. On his first day as PM Sunak promised “integrity, professionalism and accountability”. She claims to have evidence that blows this apart.

Suella can't have anything to say about professionalism, seeing her recent language.
Neither can she comment on integrity, accepting her post and 'supporting' Sunak the way she did.

Looking at the Tory letter, interesting to note that they defend 'free speech', but only when people agree with their 'common sense' opinions.... :bimbo:

Well, she ought not have anything to say, but we can be certain she will. Unless Sunak has something up his sleeve to force the evil witch to stay dead now that the bell has gone 'ding dong'.

That New Conservatives letter may as well have been written by activists it's so delusional. Recognising chronic wage stagnation and regional inequality, then swearing the post-2016 Tory policy was aimed at doing anything to address it

As someone pointed out in the replies, she's been sacked twice as HS now by the two weakest Prime Minsters in living memory. Now she's using unprofessional language in the stage whisper, sorry, letter of resignation in order to launch her next move.

If that doesn't prove her complete unsuitability for high office, I don't know what does.

She is both mad and deluded! However this is a rallying call to her right wing nutter MP mates and a call out to Tice, Farage etc for the next GE. To write this letter is just a measure of her anger and indeed spite about being rolled over by the Head Boy who has now brought in Dodgy Dave as air cover. This is going to get very juicy indeed, popcorn and G&T at the ready!

Meanwhile, as the Tories get into a playground brawl, the country is in perilous state, economy is flat lining, winter is going to kill the old and the infirm, levels of deprivation and child poverty are growing, the NHS will struggle to keep its head above water, there is even more shit in the sea and rivers, mortgage arrears and defaults are going up, Brexit is becoming an even bigger pile of shite, Border checks and tariffs on goods coming from EU are to be implemented soon, etc. At least we have Dodgy 'cut the Green Crap' Dave and his trusted finance Chinese mates to keep the UK foreign policy on an even keel whilst the world temperatures exceed the 1.5 degree limit and we have our hottest year on record! It is all going swimmingly - thank fuck we had 13 years of austerity otherwise things might have got really bad!

Oh look...
Campaigners have raised concerns over a potential conflict of interest for the new UK environment secretary, Steve Barclay, whose wife is a senior executive at Anglian Water.

This summer, Anglian Water pleaded guilty to allowing millions of litres of untreated sewage to overflow from a water recycling centre in Essex. It was fined £2.65m, the largest penalty imposed for environmental offences in the east of England region.

That's not a resignation letter is a stab not in the back but directly from the from to the jugular.
A rallying cry to the right of the Tory Party to revolt.
Tinged with no self awareness and narcissistic bombastic fervour.

I like it a lot. It's certainly not bland.

To an extent I consider the Tories indulging in yet another round of party over country infighting not such a bad thing. While they're all focused on bad-mouthing each other and jockeying for position they're not putting as much effort or focus into legislating and making the country even worse.

I remember there was controversy when Nick Griffin, the leader of the BNP went on Question Time (2009 says Google). He got absolutely battered and shown for what he was. Braverman doesn't seem so far from Griffin, though Griffin would probably hate her and think she should "go home". which is a bit ironic really.
I don't think for one minute that Braverman would face the same on QT now as Griffin did then, though she absolutely should, the media run a lot of the scaremongering, it would be wise something for them to do such a volte face

I don't want to think that these are mainstream views in Britain, yeah there has been rise in populism, scaremongering, scapegoating and fingers pointed in the direction of minorities to take attention away from the corruption and ineptitude displayed by those in power for the last 13 and a bit years, but I think most people hold similar values now to those they held ten, twenty, thirty years ago.

Fuck me! You'd hope any government would be acting and managing with common sense without having to appoint another right wing nutter in a made up cabinet position
The prime minister asked me to join his government to help bring about the common sense changes the country needs. Given the scale of the challenges we face, it is incumbent on all of us to do what we can, and I will roll up my sleeves and do my best for the government and the country.
But this was far from an easy decision for me to make as it means relinquishing my role on GB News – in particular presenting a show I love with Phil [Davies]. I don’t think it is a coincidence that when the prime minister looked for a champion for common sense he selected someone from GB News – the home of common sense.

Thérèse Coffey said she “nearly died” due to the stress of being a government minister.

Speaking to BBC Radio Suffolk, the former environment secretary said she was admitted to hospital after “working [herself] into the ground”.

Coffey, 51, who had been widely tipped to be in line to be sacked by Rishi Sunak during his cabinet reshuffle, resigned from her role on Monday.

“Nearly five years ago I got so ill, I nearly, dare I say it, died,” she said. “I was in hospital for a month with some of the stresses that happen with ministerial life.
Sure it wasn't anything to do with being an obese smoker who quite often seems to have a drink in her hand?

Besides that, it's a little difficult to credit the idea that the person who seemingly had zero grasp of her brief regardless of role was doing much work, let alone enough to be ground down.

The legal opinion was pretty firm on this and I am positive that ministers would have received the same legal advice from their civil service lawyers. However they decided to go ahead as a 'wedge issue' and something to hang their coat on for the get out of ECHR etc issues they really want to pursue. It's not really confined to the UK though is it. Populist, right wing politicians are gaining traction just about everywhere. Whilst they are dangerous pricks, people are in for a shock if they are going to ignore the reasons it is happening.

The New Conservatives group, which Braverman is meeting with this morning has as its first manifesto wish, "Replace Labour's European rights and equalities laws
