So the backline is going to be what?
Duhan (11), Currie (14)
Lang (12), Bennett (13)
Scott (15)
That is brutal. Is Henry back fit? Maybe Vellacott or Shiel on the wing and Price to start at 9? I'd be pretty tempted to stick Mata out on one of the wings!

Henry is and is expected to feature in 23. I'd probably go with that backline.

Embra have quite an easy start to next season - Leinster home, Bulls away, Lions away, Stormers home.

Real potential for 0 from 4 there and chugging it out with the likes of Zebre and Dragons at the bottom of the rankings early on. On the other hand, an early tour to SA is better than a late one.

Shades of Munster this season - Munster had the mental resilience to turn their season around though. Do Edinburgh?

Greetings Scottish-types, your guidance would be appreciated please.
I'm considering coming to Edinburgh for the Stormers game in October, but only if I can get tickets (obviously). I see the game will happen at Hive Stadium which has a tiny capacity of less than 8k.
What are the chances I could pick up a couple of tickets? Does it sell-out quickly at the start of the season?

You should be pretty good to get tickets without much trouble, but I would get in contact with the club in advance and see if they can sort you out. There are occasional sell outs but I don't expect Stormers will be in October.

Glasgow have announced their departures for end of season. Turner has been confirmed (which is a blow for Scotland if he goes to Japan). Others leaving are Kebble (wonder if he'll go to an SA franchise), Tom Gordon, Pieretto, Sordoni and Manjezi.
I'm surprised to see Gordon leave, thought he had more to give.
Both Pieretto and Sordoni leaving is good if there are SQ tightheads good enough to take their places. Fin Richardson is presumably one of those, hopefully one of the young lads is the other.

Season ticket sales are underway. I'd have thought most people who want them will have bought by now. Most good seats are gone, but these sales leave a number of single seats dotted around and this is why it is rare for the ground to sell out. So worst case you may get a couple but not together. The end stands rarely sell out.
Then there are the standing areas. Whilst season tickets are sold for these areas, not that many get sold so there are always a decent number of tickets available.
As KB suggests, contact the ticket office. They are generally very helpful

Match preview for Edinburgh's huge game away to Benetton:
Glasgow dreadfully unlucky with the bouncing ball, that’s four tries they’ve missed out on now from a bad last bounce.

Glasgow made f'ing hard work of that, passing along the back line was woeful, ref didn't help on at least two occasions.

Fantastic. Edinburgh leak the opening try whilst having a 1-man advantage. If that doesn’t tell you how today is panning out…

I’m glad it was disallowed but that’s a very strange interpretation of double movement from Whitehouse

Whatever happens in the next half and hour I hope Ross Thompson has a good run of fitness because Healy really ain't it.
He's so deep and offers nothing in attack, teams just have to front up in their tackles, as Benetton are doing, and Edinburgh are constantly on the back foot.
We've had no territory in this game

Edinburgh are going to slink out of the playoffs without firing a shot.

To be honest I don't particularly want to watch any more of this in the next few weeks.

I knew this game would be exactly what it is. I didn’t bother with the first half and I’ve managed 15 minutes of the second before turning it off. It’s a sunny day, I don’t need to be miserable inside today thanks.
Good luck to Bennetton though, they are clearly a far superior side and deserve a chance for a tilt at the title.
