So farewell to Ritchie , we often bandy around with the term Legend - but in Scotstoun that’s exactly what Ritchie was, he will be sorely missed, but every Glasgow Fan wishes him the best on what should be a lucrative end to his career. I’m sure we will see him back at Glasgow in the stands at some time in the future, like Bob Harley was against Zebre this month.
As far as the Stormers game was concerned, an efficient performance but not outstanding, the first half was far too loose from Franco’s point of view.
Musings
Glasgow have become a fully 80-minute team now.
Hastings still not fully up to speed Glasgow play at, it’s small margins – hopefully with more game time that will improve, I sometimes wonder if he still does not yet trust his body.
Jordan – I always suspected that he was more a natural 12, now I am much less sure, and that 10 really is his best position, his weaknesses, kicking from hand , and decision making have improved immeasurably since he first started at Glasgow.
Rowe, again continues to improve his game, his handling / concentration sometimes still isn’t quite up there but he impresses me more and more.
It's a shame his "tribute to Finn, deceive with the eyes, no look tip pass" to Sione was marginally forward - that was a great bit of play.
It almost was, but I can't think of a 10 that throws more forward passes than Hastings. I remember his first year with Glasgow I put it down to him needing to mature, being too eager etc. He's older now, but I still think his timing at times can just be a smidge off, it's frustrating. That ball could've been given flat or backwards and the break would still have been on. Perhaps I'm being too harsh but it just seems to happen too much with him.

That 'try' had me on my feet cheering before I realised it was a forward pass! Excellent play, skillful and creative. Unfortunately that type of move seemed light years beyond the Embra backs on Saturday who struggled to ship a pass laterally without drawing a defender! Never has the chasm between Embra and Weegie backs play been so so big!

Rowntree sacked by Munster. If you had the choice to swap out Everett for him would you take it? For me, absolutely yes.

After the way he reacted to the Semi defeat to Warriors he should avoid being anywhere near Edinburgh before the 1872 matches at least. I was seriously worried about the guys mental state after the post match press conference that night

Pro-academy players Euan McVie and Tom Currie have both joined English Championship side Doncaster Knights on a short-term loan
This suggests to me that there aren't any more "A" games coming up for a while and they want these players getting game time.

Different types of pressure which won't do them any harm at all. Doncaster are firmly in bottom half of the table so will be good to see how they get on.

It'd be worth speaking to him at the very least. Not sure what's happened there, I know they've lost a couple of players, but he's had a good record previously.

Saying ‘he’s had time off’ to describe a long term injury is more than a bit wank.
Comes across as very stroppy and petulant from Townsend. I thought he was saying "angry" at Bordeaux at first, but then read further. He's probably saying it at both.
I reckon Gray Jnr still has something to offer and I hope this doesn't become one of those face doesn't fit any more things.
Having seen the video now he seems pissed of with the club rather than the player. The suggestion seems to be that the club have twisted his arm, which must be incredibly frustrating
Just watched it too, completely agree. Don't have much of a problem with what Townsend has said now having watched the clip.

Officially that would be against World Rugby roolz, but there are tales of players being "persuaded" to turn down international duty.

Have any of you taken a TNT sports subscription for a single month before? It seems the subscription is £30 but on a monthly renewal basis so it is possible to subscribe and watch the autumn nations matches without taking a 12 month subscription?

Virgin do a monthly rolling contract for £18 for TNT. They also do Premier Sports for £13, again 30 day rolling monthly contract.

Haha, just looked. They want me to pay £5 a month for all the freeview channels like BBC and ITV on a 12 month contract before they will let me take TNT for one month at £18. What nonsense.

Ah, that's a shame. I was moving house just as my contract was coming to an end so when I phoned Virgin I initially got a 65% discount on broadband with tv and when I added back in TNT and Premier it still came to a 25% discount on what I was previously paying.
TNT comes with the Eng premiership games too, but it does eat up a lot of time watching rugby, especially now that I can watch my local club (who are a much better watch than Edinburgh)

Quite impressed that we’ve sold out against Fiji. I took my boys to see us play Fiji the last time they were in town, and I don’t reckon the crowd was over 50k.

I don't know what the thinking is, but we don't see how they train or know what Toonie has in mind. I think Jordan has been in much better form than Hastings for example, but Townsend won't know him as well as AH and it's a big call to start someone at ten on their debut

I am hoping we start to see Darge ascend to be what we hope he can be at international level which is top class. For whatever reason I don't think we have consistently seen him hit the heights at international level yet. Not a criticism at all, just hoping to see him take that next step that we have seen Russell, Hogg, Tuipulotu and one or two others take over the years.
